Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- RealityCheck2013Bristol, UK905 contributionsVisited here around the Marina area which has a number of eating places and coffee houses, there is also a nice walk into an area that has a number of sea birds and wild fowl which is a pleasant walk.
The area is filled with flats probably where some people may retire to and with a 20 minute drive to Central Bristol for commuters
A nice chic area with lots of CharacterWritten 14 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Beth S8 contributionsNice big pool, my kids enjoyed it. My 3yo who is scared of water even enjoyed it for 20 mins and then really loved the shallow toddler pool. Don't forget to bring some toys for that.
It was fully booked so they had a policy where you can swim for 20 mins then queue to go in again. This was mildly annoying in that of you want to go back in you have to get out and get cold, but it filtered some people out so we found you could go back in again with the next round.
Facilities are run down so that's why I'm giving 4 stars.
Lockers - they say bring a padlock - make sure this is quite a chunky one so that it works. Lots of the lockers didn't have locks so there weren't many available, but people did just leave their bags on the steps/chairs.
Toilets are reasonable.
Showers are annoying, 3 in the ladies, behind shower curtains.
Changing rooms are OK, there are plenty, individual little rooms with a bench and risky curtain.
Kiosk selling snacks and drinks was nice, we'd recommend a warm waffle to warm you up!
Parking - the website said park at the lake grounds. We're not from the area so parked where Google took us, Lake Grounds Car Park. It wasn't a long walk, but as we neared the pool we noticed loads of free parking right in front of the pool on the esplanade. So park there!!
Overall it was a nice fun afternoon and we would return. :)Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KimmyN.SomersetN.Somerset6 contributionsWhat a great place for a Laser Tag party. Kim was very accommodating and friendly, she made us feel very welcome with a party of 20 very excited kids! Ashley ran the laser tag party for the children and fair play, he had his hands full but was very patient with them all and ensured they had a really good time. The youth centre was spotless and welcoming, it was the perfect place for our private party. I'd recommend a party here, think it was reasonably priced for sole use of the building. Must mention Alexandra as well, the party organiser for the centre. Great staff employed here, all very accommodating and with great communication skills. Thankyou all. xWritten 4 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Adam TomlinsonPortishead, UK4 contributionsFantastic view of Wales overlooking the Bristol Channel however the course isn't kept to a good enough standard for regulars to return. Despite this, it's incredibly cheap for a round of 9. A great pub also right next to the course.Written 12 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PinkdinerBristol, UK46 contributionsOn a nice sunny cold day we had a delicious pint and a cheese and onion roll. We sat outside where there was a heater, although I think only one spot has this so we were lucky! Friendly staff, friendly locals, and a glorious setting.Written 12 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Liam D27 contributionsWe got Cornelia Cars to pickup at Bristol Airport to go to a retreat in Glastonbury and wow, what an experience. First of the owner drives a nice New Merc which has loads of room and good air con. The owner was really polite and professional gentleman and we had some great conversations! Mostly brexit. We got a great deal and we actually got him on the way home also. He arrived 15 mins early and also he tracks the flight numbers so that's an extra bonus. I was not too familiar with the area, but we got loads of info from the driver and he was very very professional.Written 27 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 151Mike151Devizes, UK847 contributionsApart from the above, check out (ladies), the ladies loos, my wife was astonished, sheer luxury on a small scale.
Bar lady, Esta gave us a very warm welcome, Wayne as well. Austin was good company.
They do have a lovely light upstairs room, comfortable seating. Surprised at the price of drinks, £3.70 for a lager. Esta does a very tasty cheese and onion roll, £1.50.
At least two good sized television rooms for sport.
Healthy football team arrived after their game Saturday afternoon for their complimentary sandwiches etc.
Club has regular live music downstairs.
A little hard to find this club, down a small alley off Slade Road. We found it worth the effort though.
This club is now not affiliated to C.I.U., their choice.
Thanks to everyone for a warm welcoming afternoon.Written 18 April 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only downside was we didn't take our own containers, won't make that error next time!Written 11 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
