My husband and I love to see the young families enjoying natures beauty, especially the "Out on a Limb" display which allows children to climb among the tree limbs and play just like the squirrels do.
There's quite a bit of walking, so be prepared with good shoes (and hats and sunscreen) A great place for adults and kids to get up close to Mother Nature.

Fun activities for the kids before the game, lots of great local food choices, home of the best mascot in MLB...the Phillie Fanatic!!
The setting is ideal, the ushers and concessionaires are friendly and seem to be having a good time, and whenever we go while we're in the area visiting family, the Phils seem to win! (Most of the time anyway!)

Lots of hands-on interactive options for children, a live costumed performer to talk to visitors about their experiences in the war, wonderful films and artifacts abound.
Fascinating museum for the whole family with a variety of static and interactive exhibits that lure the visitor through Revolutionary War events.

They have tons of leaflets, and loads of information, as well as activities for kids to do in the area of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, so a great place to start your day and do a bit of planning.
This great place offers two movies that play through-out the day as well as a kid zone, snack bar, and this is the place where you'll pick up your tickets for Independence Hall.

It is $2 a link or you can purchase a day pass for $5. My husband, who is 65, was free so it ended up being a great value for our family of four.
My two kids, husband and I picked up our All Day passes for $20 total in the morning at One Liberty Observation Deck, but there are many other places to buy them.

Plenty of green spaces to enjoy and with all of the National Park Service historic cites, you can enjoy the outdoors, enjoy the outside, etc. Saw singles, couples, pet families, friends, groups, etc.
With smaller crowds and less territory to travel in summer heat, and with so much of our country's origin happening here, I thoroughly recommend this over DC as a place for kids to be introduced to history.

I do, however, remember a DELICIOUS breakfast that we enjoyed in the market, and many of the wonderful desserts that my friend and I brought home to our families.
It's a bit like being a kid visiting the greatest toy store for the first time...you're just in awe at everything available, and so much of it looks delicious.

This is a bucolic and easy ride for the most part and is a great couple or family ride.
People were running, jogging walking, sunbathing, stringing up hammocks, children playing, biking, sitting on the grass.

Located right in front of City Hall, this place is a great spot to soak up some sun, people watch, and maybe have drink or listen to live music (Thursdays!) It's a good time for singles, couples, and families.
It features extremely entertaining fountains that will fascinate kids and adults alike -- and in winter becomes a rink.
