Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Dick OGainesville, GA25 contributionsWe went to Chef Darin's with a group, not sure what we were getting in to. We ended up having a great 3-hour cooking class featuring low-country recipes. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and ended up enjoying a delicious dinner, partially prepared by members of our group under Chef Darin's direction. BTW: the Fried Green Tomatoes we had there were superior to what we had eaten the night before at The Olde Pink House. A most enjoyable evening.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- rms74Cincinnati, OH84 contributionsA group of 5 of us signed up for a class here, as part of the African-American Chef's Hall of Fame, and it was an evening to remember. Don't let the humble exterior of the building fool you. Inside we found a warm welcome from Chef Joe, his staff and the featured Chef of the evening.
The food was delicious, demonstration was helpful and the company was great. We walked away with a lifetime memory and recipes we will try our best to duplicate. Don't miss this for a memorable evening.Written 11 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately one of the ladies couldn't attend last minute and nobody will contact me on how to get my money back. The day of the party I was informed the owner would get back to me to discuss my refund, well a week later I have heard nothing. To me that's incredibly poor customer service. I have been trying to contact the owner for a month now (even 3 wks prior to try to get the $ back). If i don't hear soon i plan to call my bank and stop payment on the entire purchase.Written 2 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
