Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The iconic River Street is full of rich history as well as the plethora of cafes and restaurants. One of the highlight spots on the River Street is the Cotton Exchange Building, which dates back to 1887 when Savannah was ranked as the #1 cotton seaport on the Atlantic Ocean.

On the Riverfront Plaza the steamship “Georgia Queen” is a big draw and a great photo op.

You will likely have a problem finding a place to park, but if you do, you will be rewarded, The location where the mythical bus stop bench is in a small garden located at an intersection on the north side of the square, facing Bull Street. The church steeple where the feather drifted down is the Independent Presbyterian Church at 207 Bill Street. A lovely square.

The Riverfront Plaza is a great area to stroll while in Savannah. There are lots of shops, bars, and restaurants along the riverfront, and all sorts of historic buildings. You'll have a great time just wandering around here and seeing all of the historic buildings.

City Market is a pedestrian friendly area between Franklin and Ellis Squares in historic downtown Savannah. While there one may visit the Prohibition Museum, shops, and restaurants, or simply relax on a bench and watch the people stroll by.

It's wonderful that they have memorialized her memory right where she needs to be. Her history is legend and she will forever be an icon of Savannah.
She's in an easy to find spot right off the River St shops. Quick and easy stop to say hello, grab a pic and then continue on your way.

I found myself slowly spinning in a circle as I took this beautiful park in. It's simply breathtaking. Savannah is full of beautiful little squares and parks, but this one certainly is one of the most gorgeous ones. Definitely worth a stop. Interesting history as well! Such an amazing spot to appreciate. Very thankful for my visit.

One of many historic city squares in Savannah this one built in the 1730s. Peaceful spot featuring large oak tree and statue of John Wesley the founder of the Methodist Church. Unfortunately many homeless enjoy visiting the squares too.

Laid out in 1837, Madison Square is surrounded by historic Gothic, Romanesque and Greek Revival structures, such as the Sorrel Weed (c.1840) House as well as St. John's (c.1853) Episcopal Church. The square has beautiful live oaks, attractive walkways, various historical markers and a center statue to William Jasper who was killed at the siege of Savannah in 1779. Great area of town to walk around and absorb the beauty.

Monterey Square was laid out in 1847 and has a monument (c. 1853) to General Casmir Pulaski, the Polish born General who died in 1779 during the siege of Savannah. It is ironic that there is no monument to him just 6 blocks away in Pulaski Square. All but 1 of the buildings on the square are original, with the incredible Mercer House (c. 1871) taking up an entire block. The story of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil revolves around the house. The square is filled with live oaks, Spanish Moss, azaleas, inviting walkways and beautiful landscaping.

We loved all the squares in Savannah. They are relaxing. They have benches so you can sit and enjoy the beautiful trees, plants, surroundings, and people watch. Great place to rest under the wonderful shade of all the gorgeous trees!

Nice, clean shop where displays are not too crowded and aisles are clear. I did not find anything on this trip, but would go, again, if I lived in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice view of the gilded dome from the Savanna Belle Ferry and from the Westin Golf Resort pier at sunset. We didn’t go inside, but the sunset view was something to remember.
