Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our 2nd visit to Preservation Hall. The first was over 20 years ago when we recall it being an amazing but very hot experience in a minimalist room being entertained by a band of great jazz musicians - most of them in their 70s or 80s. We had to come back and bring our friends. The experience this time was even better, from the articulate introduction by a passionate member of the Preservation Hall team to the vibrant, funny and explosive musicians who really wanted to get the audience involved - we loved every minute of the show. For anyone who wants to experience the real spirit and traditions of New Orleans, Preservation Hall is a must!

We were driving into NOLA to our hotel in French Quarter - and noticed the Saenger Theater with "A'int too Proud" playing .... and got tickets online less than 24 hours in advance - Easy

The theater is beautiful and the sightlines and acoustics were great. The play was also very good. And best of all a short walk to our hotel in French Quarter

    Enjoy!!

Outstanding venue and great staff. Would go back in a heartbeat. It is hard to replicate the experience we had there. What a fabulous place.

    The play was well done.

I needed to know more about Barbara Streisand to get the humorous references.

    But it was very entertaining.

The matinee was nice and we had an early dinner at Ralph’s on the park after!

We went to see the movie 1917 here and it was great, the food and cinema were both small and classic and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lovely theater. Acoustics good. Clean and well maintained.
The front of the theater was barricaded on the street making it difficult to get in and out.

The Historic Carver Theater is truly a beautiful venue with rich history. The staff is amazing and the service is wonderful. Truly a venue that supports it's community.

Nothing special. Not the most beautiful theater. Kinda confusing as to where to meet Uber after the show. Acoustics for the opening comedian was not great. Very loud and not clear. You think it’s a small theater but even in the orchestra you cannot see the faces and a large screen would be helpful.

Nice hidden gem. Smaller venue with intimate setting and good acoustics. Staff professional and welcoming. Adequate parking available within blocks of the theatre. A number of restuarant choices for after the show dining. Clean restroom.
Cons: Room temperature in the balcony area was hot. Several individuals commented. The seats were very cramped with little wiggle room. Experienced leg pains (never before) during the performance. I had to stand in aisle for temporary relief.

This was our second visit to The Toulouse Theatre and even after months had passed, bartender Nathan remembered us. The eclectic charm of the lobby bar drew us in last August as we sought some shade and escape from the heat. This time, we found Nathan to be as charming and efficient as ever. On a third visit, Simone made us feel equally at home and provided us with excellent drinks and service. I'll never return to NOLA without stopping here for drinks.!

I love theatre and usually when I go to New Orleans the two French Quarter theatre companies are between productions. But last year I was there when they had a play on. The Company operates in a space on the top floor of the Shops at Canal Place. I have seen two excellent productions here: Doubt a few years ago and last year Red. The Company presents a varied season mixing old with the latest and something for children in December. You don't need to be in New York, Chicago etc. to see great theatre. The Company has a web site so if you are coming to the city you can plan ahead. Be sure to stop next door at RHINO (Right Here In New Orleans) an arts and crafts cooperative. Most of the work here is glass, pottery and jewelry and each artist/craftsperson must commit a certain amount of hours at the shop each year. You can find wonderful work here at reasonable prices and maybe the person who rings up your purchase is the person who created it. On nights with Southern Rep is performing the shop stays open until curtain time.

An indie type movie house. They have about 150 seat most folding chairs. They do have several sofas if you get there early. They serve beer & wine as well as a few snack/treats (Some traditional & some international ones). The wine we had seemed old so find out when it was opened or see if they will let you taste it before ordering. Unique place to see a movie so I would go back.

This place truly doesn't have a bad seat in the house and parking is sooooo easy.
