- Alex GBataan Province, Philippines10 contributionsOur family had a great time in Vigan and Calle Crisologo was so beautiful and historical I should say. Bringing you back to the old days which is so magnificent. Love Vigan and planning to back next year.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Erick JManila, Philippines36 contributionsThe show lasted for 30 mins with multiple songs interpreted by the dancing fountain. However, do not expect the show to be at par with the fountain show in Okada nor at Luneta Park. But it was still decent for the kids and the rest of the family.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary Len MManila, Philippines4 contributionsThe place is closed due to its structure affected by eathquake. But you can take pictures from afar. There are tourist guides who will volunteer to take some pictures. It’s up to you whether you give a tip or not. It’s not compulsory. But they took pictures very nice and know some tricks.Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Czar EmmanuelManila, Philippines6,268 contributionsThis church -- the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral -- has been the center of the Ilocano people's faith since its foundation in the late 16th century. It has seen quite a number of unpleasant events (like earthquakes, fires and wars) and yet it stands firm on its ground and continues to offer spiritual refuge to those who need it. Be sure to drop by this famous landmark in the city when you visit Calle Crisologo, which is just a stone throw's away from it, and admire its architecture and appreciate its history.Written 5 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SafeeyaSanta Rosa, Philippines19 contributionsChinese, Spanish, American, Japanese, Filipino what does all this means to the Syquia Mansion? Well, everything! All of these cultures can be found inside this tiny mansion where generations upon generations of Syquias have lived. The house and most of the furnitures are around 200+ years old and it is filled with history and culture. Truly an amazing piece of history to behold.Written 30 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul VCalgary, Canada301 contributionsThis church has been designated as a world heritage site. It is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. Whereas the outside looks dirty, the church still represents what the Spanish missionaries came to do here. The inside needs some work, however the altar is impressive. Go up to where the choir performs for a better view if the church. The roof was traditionally covered with a kind of local grass, but was replaced with corrugated roof coverings in part because of the fire hazard and in part because of typhoons. Men were sitting on one side of the church, where the authorities could keep an eye on them and women, children and the elderly on the other side. The bell tower also served as a watch tower. This tower resembles a pagoda and legend has it that the Chinese workers who built the tower wanted to add a Chinese touch, something the Spaniards noticed after the fact. Tower is starting to lean because of the soft soil. Not the most grandiose church, but worth a visit.Written 3 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Roy V1 contributionVery educational about the history of the family and the political line of the family. It us a revelation for me to know that the late old Crisologo is the author of SSS. I appreciate all the household furnitures, memorabilia and other things, including the car when they were ambushed. The Carjuahe's, the pottery collection, the old typewriters, the military uniform, etc..
The volunteer staff are very accommodating and helpful.Written 14 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He told me that it used to be a wooden bridge and you have to be careful crossing since the chances of having a flat tire is not far fetch. I told him how things changed, that it was now made of concrete and it is not being used since they made a stronger bridge right across this one. I am just lucky that I was able to enjoy the bridge and the amazing view. Not much people during our visit. And yes my father was able to see it again last 2019. It was somewhere in the 70's when he last visited and yes he was nostalgic.Written 11 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
