Even on a hot sunny day - this is a fun place to visit. It is down below street level and completely shaded. There are many shops and restaurants to visit. If all you want to do is walk - then you can eaily rack up several miles just following the river on all the paved walkways.

The visit to the caves were definitely a 5/5! As many other reviews share pictures absolutely do not do the justice they deserve. Absolutely breathtaking sights! I know it may be difficult, but the only recommendation I would make would be smaller tour sizes. Our tour guide did an amazing job! Thank you for the great day!

We spent a few hours here; we first took a guided group tour where we learned some interesting historical facts and then walked around the grounds reading everything ourselves to immerse ourselves in the history. If you are into history, this is a must do. We were disappointed that the church was closed on the Monday we went for a private event so we did not get to see inside of it.

Thoughtfully created & beautifully maintained. This was our last stop before leaving San Antonio, and I’m so glad we did it - although it was hundred+ in the heat, walking the garden was still tranquil & not too busy; parking was on road & free too. We spent a good hour here, walking the garden paths and appreciating the views. Definitely worth a visit when in SA.

It was very fun to walk around such a historical place and take pictures. The entrance was free, the building was almost intact after 300 years.

We stopped here and walked around the mission. We couldn't go in due to a church service going on. What we saw was beautiful.

My visit to the gardens was absolutely superb! I could wonder for hours and feel like it wasn’t enough time to capture the majesty of this incredible place! The staff were so kind and friendly to make the experience even better!

We stayed in San Antonio in late February for three nights to visit our daughter and two grandsons. A trip to the zoo was planned — so we joined the all day excursion. The zoo was busy with lots of young families but not overwhelming. The size of the zoo was just right for our younger ones. We kept our picnic items in the vehicles just in case dining options were limited inside the park — good thing we did because not much was open in the way of concessions nor eateries. The vintage carousel ride was a big hit. There are two other major attractions associated with the zoo which are worth the extra time and effort — the pint sized train ride and nearby vintage kids amusement park. Plan on spending the entire day to fully enjoy the entire scope of activities without feeling like you’re rushing through just to check it off your list.

We randomly decided to visit the Witte on a Tuesday during our San Antonio trip because it was going to rain and realized Tuesdays are free! What a perk! We spent several hours there. Our 9 and 11 year old girls loved the Body Adventure best but were quite interested in most of the exhibits. There is super convenient garage parking right across from the museum.

Saturday: parking line took about 20 minutes. We purchase one platinum season pass so parking was included. They scanned my paper copy at the parking entrance. We got up front preferred parking with the pass, which is close. No need for VIP, they are next to each other. Purchased one meal plan and three quick queue passes. Used the 2 free guest passes with the season pass. Set a timer for meals and shared. We spent a minimal amount of extra. We brought water bottles. We started with the sea lions and I sent my husband for the first meal at 12:30. We rode rides next as we headed to the Orca show at 4pm. The quick queue took 5-15minutes per ride. They don’t really give your bar code much attention. They don’t scan it or read it. We went twice in each coaster. We stood in a very long line for the second meal at the BBQ place. It probably took about 40 min to get food. We sat inside, it was not very clean but we did find a place to sit. By happy accident we arrived late to the orca show. Once the show starts they let others fill up the reserved seats. We did just that and had a great seat! Next we rode the journey to Atlantis 2 times in a row. We got to the 6pm Beluga show. After we got one last meal at the Harvest house. Shopped for a keepsake at the store. Left by 7pm when the exit line was minimal. It was good. You just have to plan and prioritize the important things with your children ahead of time. Rent a locker for the day because you will need to unload from ride to ride. You can transfer the locker rental from ride to ride. Pack a few extra items of clothes if you get wet. Expect to stand in lines. Expect to see aggravated children and adults. Have a good time and just stay relaxed. Print a park map ahead of time so that your battery doesn’t run out. Pack an extra portable battery charger. Buy the quick passes after you purchase your season pass so that you get the discount. Get these tickets as far in advance as possible. They go up as they sell more tickets.

We enjoyed the night show but also went back during the day to go inside. A beautiful cathedral. A must visit on your trip.

We started out after lunch after touring the Alamo in the morning and got in Missions San Juan, San Jose and Espada before the 5pm closing time arrived. We went to Mission Concepcion the next morning on our way out of town. All the missions were interesting and the NPS rangers are well versed in their history.

I stopped by on a Saturday late afternoon, but the line was long, so I skipped. I came back on a Sunday and there was no line, so was able to go to the top without really any wait except for the elevator coming back down. Same when it was time to back down. The views are nice, but I went in the late afternoon so the brightness of the sun was impacting the views towards the west with sunny haze. The glass surrounding the observation deck are also dirty and scratchy, so it sort of impacted my photos as well as the view finder would sometimes focus on the dirt. It got very windy up with the wind blowing people's hat off, so hold on tight for things that might get blown away.

It was very interactive. They got to hold birds, pet animals and marine life and see everything up close. It was very sad to see lemurs and other small mammals in cages with no outside access or light. They seemed to be otherwise well taken care of. The gift shop has a variety of things so everyone found something they liked. Parking was easy and free. It cost me $22 to get in.

We drove through this area recently and enjoyed seeing all of the old homes. I wish that we had a map to find out more about some of the houses. We did see one home with a historical marker. It was called old S.J.Brooks house. Brooks Air Force Base was named after Brooks' son who was a cadet who was killed training for WW I duty.
