A really nicely presented museum, with fascinating stories, a great balance of info and media - and a chance to take a proper tour of a boat with genuine history. Ex-submariner Doug took us round and answered positively all our questions. It was fun to share the tour with ex-submariners from other navies too!

It started with a lovely trip over from the dockyards on the water bus.
It’s a short walk from the jetty to the main buildings, but once inside it is a well signposted route with a lot of information about the exhibits.
Sitting outside other cafe on a sunny afternoon afterwards is quite nice.
The only downside is the limited travel times to and from the dockyard which can make it a challenge to fit into the day as it only goes over every 2 hours.

Definitely worth a visit. visit. I thoroughly enjoyed strolling around the village, chatting with the volunteers and learning all about village life in mid-17th century England. All dressed in period clothing and in character, the volunteers are a mine of knowledge and facts about rural society in Stuart England and how it functioned. The buildings that make up the village give an insight into the basic, dark, smoky dwellings of that period, a far cry from the comforts of modern domestic life. Engaging and educational, I intend to bring my grandchildren next time.

We loved exploring inside the hovercraft, particularly the huge Princess Anne cross-channel car hovercraft. My kids also enjoyed the quiz sheet to spot as many different pictures and logos as they could.

The museum survives on a shoestring budget and is funded only by public donations, so it is a bit rough around the edges in places. But there is nowhere else in the world you can see these unique pieces of historical British engineering up close, and I’m very grateful for all the hard work of the volunteers at the museum who look after them.

We got left behind in a group of people visiting HMS Alliance and it really paid off! We ended up with our own personal tour with a wonderfully knowledgeable man, Rob. We got to see how the powerful supercharged 8-cylinder diesel engine worked and even got to look through the periscope! We got a real insight into how the sub worked and how the crew lived and worked out at sea. Although a visit to Alliance only takes about 40 minutes we both really enjoyed it. We have Ultimate Explorer tickets and we both agree that HMS Alloance and HMS Warrior are our top 2 attractions. Thanks Rob for your time and expertise, it really made our visit on board amazing. Sadly, Trip Advisor won’t let me add my photos so you’ll have to go see it for yourself!

Lovely beach, parking is good, limited food/drink facilities near the carpark but minor complaint. Took paddle boards, quite choppy the day we visited, so not always sheltered

We loved this as a option rather than driving as you exit it's a short walk to Gunwharf Quays shopping outlet. And a short bus ride if you wanna go shopping for other retailers. Easy to park near by to access the ferry, and reasonable prices.

Me and my friends and family love Stokes Bay for many reasons. This is a great place for summer days the only downside is it's a stone beach so reccomend some shoes you don't mind getting wet. There is a splash park with small slide, a playground, minigolf, two cafe's and a small field for barbequeues and big meet ups. Fun seaside day out with car parking. Reccomended!

Amazing little find! All staff so friendly and welcoming to us and our young family. Entertaining the eldest so we could read about the diving in the area, taking time to talk to us and spend time with us. Highly recommend!

Not many towns or cities have such a well equipped modern venue. Two floors of well kept books audio and video equipment. As far as Gosport is concerned it is the jewel in the crown! The cafe has a varied menu and a comfortable seating and eating area. All in all a great place to visit .

I enjoyed walking through the country park. For me there were too many dogs of the lead to make it totally relaxing.
