Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- TWal1Canberra, Australia2,938 contributionsWe had a brief visit to Porthmadog at the start of our Welsh Highland Railway Walk. I enjoyed walking around the harbours on a drizzly afternoon. Most boats were tied up and the activity level was low. It was a pleasant and easy walk. So much for mid-summer sun.Written 21 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- FrenziedYakNorthwich, UK27 contributionsFriendly & welcoming model shop with extensive & varied stock, including old and retired sets from a variety of brands. Prices are competitive and owner very knowledgeable and cheery. My boys were very impressed with the Zulu diorama which was huge! It's a good job we don't live closer - it would cost me a fortune!Written 29 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bill HAberdeen, UK96 contributionsJust what an independent bookshop shop should be all about: well-stocked shelves covering all genres, a focus on local publishers and authors and friendly staff who can order books for next-day delivery to the shop. Shop local!Written 18 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- therichastillStevenage, UK3,466 contributionsIt's always handy to visit a second hand music shop as you could find a gem you have been hunting for.
Cob Records is a perfect place to check out. It's close to Porthmadog Harbour station and the Cob. Hence the name.
There is a wide variety of vinyl and CD's to have a look through and I hope you pick up a bargain!Written 19 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Its sister shop (Edinburgh Woollen Mill) is just a few yards below it. Whilst we were shopping in Port this morning (Sunday), we noticed that there was a sale on so we decided to have a browse inside. We both liked the Nauticalia range but these items were not included in the sale. The staff are always helpful and polite.Written 17 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
