Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unlike many ancient walled cities, walking around this one was a real pleasure. Considering the number of day trippers that come in off the cruise ships, I was surprised by how clean and tidy everything was. The actual city walls are, on the most part in incredible condition And thankfully the custodians have not allowed too much to become loud and tacky.
The only issue I had with the old town was the inflated prices and sneaky way in which many of the bars and restaurants upsized your order on purpose. Whilst these unscrupulous traders continue to make a fast buck from the unsuspecting visitors, if the governors allow this practice to continue, the city will get a bad reputation and people will stay away.

The artefacts on display were in amazing condition and were well detailed, though some explanations were behind ropes preventing access and making them hard to read. There was also a display about the origins of St John ambulance through to modern day. The preservation of the building has been very well done but I would recommend visiting early in the day, before lunch, particularly if there is a cruise ship in town.
The visit would have scored higher if there was also information on what the rooms might have been used for and details of the furniture in each room, rather than just about the mosaics on the floor. It would have also been. Ice to be allowed in the gardens alongside as there looked to be several interesting statues contained within the grounds.

The history is absolutely amazing. A walk round the old moat is a must. Shame photos are ruined by cruise liners berthing so close.

Definitely worth a visit when you are in the old town of Rhodes. Hopefully you will miss the groups of people who pile off the cruise ships. Really interesting medieval street.

Here is the sea and the ships, a mix of ferries, cruise ships and some yachts. You will see stone walls, towers and little old windmills. Take a photo of the inevitable cruise ships and then wander into the old town.

Nice, tidy Beach, more crowded than other beaches on Rhodes. Sun beds more expensive than elsewhere, 15€ per parasol and bed. The water is clear but very deep not recommended without special shoes as little pebbles that cover the beach get hot in the sun very quickly and you can burn yourself easily. A lot of people selling handmade bracelets and offering massages

This was a lovely place to stop on our walk around the town. Beautifully maintained and pretty in a simple way. We were happy that there was someone around to let us in as the Synagogue is sometimes closed.

It is quite high so it is noticeable from many parts of town except in the heart of the old city. Historic, attractive, one of the city's landmarks.

This was one of the wonders of the ancient world, but it toppled in an earthquake. Its site at the harbor is still there and one can imagine how it marked the entrance to the island. Now a small pillar marks the spot.

We walked up from Rhodes town on a very hot day. It’s not particularly well signposted and we used Google maps to find it. We enjoyed looking at the stadium and imagining what it would have been like back in the day but there didn’t appear to be any information boards to tell of its history and restoration which was disappointing and although there was a kiosk it wasn’t open which was unfortunate as I think they would have made quite a lot of money as visitors, of which there were quite a few would have appreciated a cold drink.
