- Us2dogoRochdale, UK120 contributionsWe came off the canal and saw this museum so decided to venture in. To start with we were very surprised the learn it was free, only asking for donations.
We were greeted by a lovely man who explained what we would see and how to easily move through the building.
The museum comprised of old shops, a pub, doctors surgery, a house from the 1920's. You then go on to learn more history Romans settling in the Manchester area.
Downstairs is all about the sewing industry that was here with beautiful old machines on display. Then to finish off with a beautiful cafe meal.
A must see if in the, or like us chugging past on the canal.Written 18 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - glennharroldScotland, UK3,041 contributionsGreat views of Tameside and Manchester and a lovely walk … recommend if it’s a clear or sunny day! Short train journey from the city and a fab walk.Written 13 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Holidaylover217Greater Manchester, UK35 contributionsVisited today with my 7m old baby. Wasn’t expecting to cater to her needs specifically with her being so young, but I did expect a few more animals at a farm. They have lots of goats, a pen of pigs, 2 alpacas and 2 reindeer ( indoor for petting) They have a field of sheep, an owl and various fowl, a duck pond and some donkeys and ponies too. Then the cuddle corner with rabbits etc.
There is lots of other activities that an older child would enjoy - play areas, carousel, snow slide, tractor rides etc.
I think overall, it’s a nice day out but is overpriced even for an older child.
The baby changing tables are filthy though ( like engrained dirt and filth in the hinges etc, not just like someone inconsiderate had used them and not cleaned up after themselves. I didn’t use them and changed baby in the boot of my car they were so bad.
Staff were all friendly and there was absolutely loads of them to supervise goings on.Written 1 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - steven bOldham, UK722 contributionsI haven't been here in so long, that I had pop down & refresh my memory.
After passing a few days earlier & now on my own,I was in the area again, do decided to take a look.
Being a Wednesday & cold, the place was quiet, just a couple of people off for a walk,I went for a look around, taking in &, trying to imagine what life would have been like, noise, smells, how busy the place would have been, now almost lost in the undergrowth.
I didn't take any of the trails,I guess on a warmer day it's a great place to explore.Written 5 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - CauldronCressManchester, UK44 contributionsMy self and my daughter went here for a child's birthday party. Staff seemed friendly enough and helped the kids get their skates on. They even slowed down my daughters skates as they were a little too fast for her. The kids seemed to really enjoy it!Written 4 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Inside market brilliant for fresh produce. But the outside area very poor only a handful of stalls so a shame since alteration. Ashton used to be so busyWritten 17 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Chrissy1 contributionThe exorcist was the first escape room we've done, we did this as a family and my 11year old daughter loved it. It wasn't too scary for her, she does like horror, but is still only a kid so it was perfectly pitch for her. I think they can adjust the atmosphere and scare levels for family's and teams and monitor throughout - so definitely in safe and considerate hands. The instructor was fab, helpful and playful too. It had some exciting and jumpy parts and surprises I hadn't expected. It was absolutely excellent, challenging puzzles to solve, witty and fun. It had us working together as a team and we all enjoyed it. We were all full of energy and happy when we left, pleased to have got out in time and talking over all the puzzles. I definitely recommend this and we plan to return to complete the other rooms. Wonderful!!Written 3 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- shephepealdridge54 contributionsThis a great experience. You sit in the cockpit of a real jet. You wear the overalls, life vest, helmet and oxygen mask and are strapped in just as the real thing with parachute and then to the ejector seat. The instruments are linked to the simulator so if your used to flying a PC its all for real here. Instructor Ian went through the controls and startup procedure and then is your back seat accomplice. Great fun looping, rolling and flying under the Menai bridge. However its what you want to do but the set pieces were fine for me. Worth a visit and a great gift for those would be flyers.Written 29 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TonyAshton-under-Lyne, UK17 contributionsI've been going here for years to see tribute artists, we usually pick someone we want to see, so we may go 3 or 4 times a year. Once in a blue moon the artist isn't that good but most of the time they're excellent. It's a small venue, I've got to admit the mens toilets are surprisingly clean, something you often don't get.Written 29 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
