It's pretty hard to have a bad time wine tasting, but this is a particularly lovely experience. It's in the basement of the winery (and home?), candlelit, and just a lovely hour with nice wines and tasty infused olive oils.

We went on a vacation in June 2019. We had the best experienced vacation ever. Not crowded. Peaceful. We had first row to sea accomodation. Beautiful sunrises, on and off swimming, joyful nights with lot of crickets sounds. Zavala is best place if you want peace, beautiful pebble beach, clear sea and 100% enjoying nature.

We visited this family winery while on a day stop in Hvar as part of our Unforgettable Croatia yacht cruise down the Dalmatian coast. The visit was well organised in a large tasting room accommodating our whole group of around 36 people. We tasted four wines and servings were generous. Meats cheeses and bread were also provided. The cellar door was about 30 minutes on the bus from the Hvar port. Staff were friendly and efficient. Wines were good too 😊

We enjoyed our visit to this small, family owned winery where we enjoyed tasting a variety of their wines with cheeses. They were quite good and affordable. Our hostess spoke perfect English and was very welcoming.

We visited here on 19/09/23 as part of an island hopping excursion.

We started our trip at Makarska Marina, where we set sail to Jelsa Hvar first.
We docked and explored for an hour, we shopped, visited stores, and took in the beauty and history of the island.
There are a lot of your standard "touristy" shops. Lots of ice cream parlours, souvenir shops, and restaurants.
We enjoyed our walk around taking in the architecture and marina.

    Mala Stiniva is devastated.
More exotic part called Lučica will soon be devastated too.
    No more photos....

This is a park with a running canal going out to the ocean, right on the beach of the Jelsa water front. We stayed close to this park (maybe 1/4 mile) and walked by it every day. In the evenings, there was music like you cannot believe - local music, dixieland, swing bands, everything you could ever ask for. This was a great destination.

A fascinating insight to the old techniques used in the fishing industry of Vrboska. Duje was an excellent guide, answering questions and providing interesting detail of how the sardine industry worked and the equipment used. My only wish is that the old sardine factory could be beautifully restored and preserved as it has great historic value.
