Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best gin by a country mile! Had an amazing tour by the very knowledgeable local Freya who gave us the history of gin and then let us sample the gins. Maura was our favourite but to be honest they are all great.

The owners Caroline and Struan were at hand to talk to us and made us feel extremely welcome. Would say it’s a must stop location on the island ❤️

We visited the Cathedral for Sunday eucharistic. A small and very beautiful building with a friendly and welcoming congregation. Lovely music to accompany the service and we would have liked to attend one of the music recitals in during August 2023.

This was amazing, someone has done a great art work. The tide was out but it still looked great. It’s in the middle of Millport but you still have to find it. Just don’t get too close as you can see.

Another visit to this great little site right in the middle of town. Only a ten minute ferry ride gets you away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland to the peace and tranquility of the Island. Stayed 31/5/24 for a few nights and as before we had a great few day's, site is well kept, staff are ultra friendly, yards from the beach, shop's, resteraunt and bars. Only thing is it doesn't have a toilet or shower block, you are free to use the toilets in the Garrison during opening hours. Maybe in the future they will add the toilet/shower block. We will be back.

Newton Beach is the small shingle/sandy beach that lies below the promenade in the centre of Millport. With gently sloping sand into shallow water it is ideal for families and its intertidal rock pools add extra interest and fun while the stunning views of the Eileans, Little Cumbrae and the Clyde Estuary make the perfect backdrop.

The beach is highly rated and has received a Beach Award from Keep Scotland Beautiful.

The aquarium section has recently been renovated and now appears much more professional. The museum section is now more geared to kids and of less interest to the adult visitor than it used to be.

Last minute decision to take ferry from Largs to Millport and I'm so glad I did. What a beautiful little island. Millport itself is having quite a lot of work done along the front, but drive out of there and follow the coast road round and you won't be disappointed. There are plenty of areas to pull in and enjoy the view.
I visited The Glaid Stone which you can walk up to, but I drove up and found a small parking area. Views amazing!! Stop at the cafe at Fintry Bay for lunch. Dog friendly

As is typical with searching out these standing stones, we had a bit of difficulty finding it and figuring out where to park. When you get close, look for a 2-car parking area with a sign for Gouklan Wood. There's a lovely (short) path through the woods to the standing stone.
