- S_brown24067 contributionsGreat day, my little boy loved it here! Loads for kids to do, I was worried there might not be much he could go on as he’s only 3 but there was so much for him to do. We will definitely be revisitingWritten 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Christy6 contributionsWhat an amazing experience working these locks. I definitely recommend anyone who was on the canal to go here and enjoy doing the work that everyone has been doing for so many years. Take your kids, take your parents, take your friends, and go visit this amazing location.Written 16 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - machinmadYaxley, UK2,508 contributionsA lovely area of natural beauty which has been left to go wild. Wildlife clearly feels safe here as there's lot's of bird species on the lake, beef cattle graze the shoreline and birds adorn the woodlands.
The circular walk round the lake is easy to follow, with few visitors. A hidden gem.Written 26 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Items about cheese making, militaria and clock making for example. The clock making exhibit is particularly informative and the pattern used to cast an 18 foot clock dial is some spectacle. The staff were helpful and informative. You need an hour to do it some justice, longer if the videos catch your attention. Be aware of opening days/times to avoid disappoinment.Written 30 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martin WAuckland, New Zealand79 contributionsIi pre-Covid times , we were on the Llangollen canal heading away from Whitchurch, when we came across this staircase of three locks. Lovely bit of engineering, lots of interesting little construction features and details. There was a very helpful volounteer on hand to assist us through the locks. Magic. On the way back we had to climb the locks again and this time stopped off for a light lunch at the wee cafe. Very nice, sitting out in the sun, watching other boats go through.Written 18 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
