What travellers are saying
- nik0labrayk0vSofia, Bulgaria4 contributionsA very nice place for a walk with your beloved person or friends. Beautiful places to have coffee or drink. Good views and good food.
Tip: Visit the town in April or October. Otherwise you will get cold during winter or lost be in a crowd during the summer.Written 9 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Aaron JamesOxford, UK59 contributionsA charming and impressive church which is well worth the walk through Altea's winding streets and passageways.Written 25 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- benisteveBirmingham, UK14,046 contributionsWork still continuing along a stretch of the playa and promonade for the new beach, at least some of the businesses have some sort of terrace area back and can open againWritten 16 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- sallypilatesAltea la Vella, Spain140 contributionsThis plaza has it all. Surrounded by little boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and a buzzing vibe in the evening in the summerWritten 27 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- larsaksNorway5 contributionsThe marina is located at the south end of town / village there is boardwalk from the harbor and along the seafront of the town, it is also only a short walk if one goes the other way along the beach road to Albir. The harbor has a good pier that shields the boats for most of the storms, it can be a little swell in part of the harbor. It facilitates repairs of both hull and engine overhauls. and it is possible to take the boat ashore for winter storage.Written 6 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Dale CBedford, UK82 contributionsWorth a visit, lots of choice and varied reasonably priced items, gifts clothes and day to day items.Written 29 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Steve TPreston, UK19,926 contributionsA tricky place to get to but worth the effort to have a look at a classical piece of Spanish history - dating back to the sixteenth century.
Also the walk to get here, whilst challenging, can also be most enjoyable.
Lots of information boards can be found around the ruins.Written 18 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - BriJan_13Hartlepool, UK90 contributionsBeautiful litte stations with very friendly ticket office staff. Ver clean airconditioned trains that run hourly and are always on time , We were staying in Altea and got the train to Calpe twice ( Worth it just for the views ) and Benidorm once ( once was enough ) The cost 2.45 euros return !! The UK could learn a lot from tese people ! Unfortunately the line from Calpe to Denia was under maintainence so we could not go there .Written 20 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- saraw328Altea, Spain17 contributionsNo visit to Altea is complete unless you've gone to Gallery Varga. It is owned by award-winning photographer, Balazs Varga. There, you can find beautiful black and white photos, many of which were taken in Altea. They make perfect gifts or souvenirs and are very affordably priced. The gallery is in the old town and is a charmingly beautiful space with an amazing energy. Truly a very special place in Altea.Written 1 January 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- WelshwaspSouth Wales, UK484 contributionsThis museum is not well signed but is in the old council building ( directly to the right of the entrance up a spiral staircase). The building itself is on the corner opposite one of the flight of steps to and from the old town on the east side of the lower town. It is closed weekday afternoons and is full of exhibits relating to the Moors and Christians festivities. the main exhibits are of colourful costumes worn over the recent years by those taking part during the September re-enactments.Written 30 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
