Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kate & KyleMonaco-Ville, Monaco124 contributionsAccording to the organisers of the boat tours, it’s a community endeavour to which tourists contribute by booking.
Whether or not this is accurate, the trip itself (choice of 2, 3, or 4 hours) is a very good way to discover both the flora and forna of the lake, as well as interacting with the locals.
If possible, we’d highly recommend choosing Joshua, who has a knowledge of the lake that must be hard to rival, and an engaging way of explaining everything.
We opted for the 3-hour trip, which included a stop at Ol Kokwe Island, where the locals (a Maasai tribe) take advantage of the natural hot spring to offer a couple of different, short activities (boiled eggs, sauna, fish pedicure). Joshua has also trained two Ospreys to fetch fish in front of the boat, for a great photo opportunity. And a strong likelihood of seeing crocodiles, fish, birds and, maybe, some hippos.Written 14 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Obviously, many flamingos move to Lake Bogoria and make it a flamingo haven. As described in Wikipedia, it is “home to one of the world’s largest population of ‘lesser flamingos’ (a species of flamingos)”.
Even we went through 2 hours bumpy roads, everyone of us thought it was still worthy to visit.
We stayed in a hotel in Nakuru (Savora Woodlands) and it is good for visiting both lakes within an acceptable driving distance.Written 10 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bill BMontreal, Canada18 contributionsI just got back from a 9 day guided birdwatching trip in Kenya. Moses, from Birdwatching Kenya is a very good guide. He set up the accommodations, food and trip for us. We say over 400 species of bird in the first 2 weeks of July. I cannot recommend Birdwatching Kenya enough if you are looking for an exceptional bird watching experience!Written 18 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
