Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- David W1 contributionThis was purchased for me for my 40th birthday. What a fantastic experience from the minute you turn up. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The person I jumped with was great. I advise this to anyone thinking about it.Written 2 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Craig164Chippenham, UK58 contributionsWhat a beautiful day of sunshine and calm seas to accompany our walk with the dogs. The views were stunning and the dogs swam and ran to their hearts content. A great find.Written 15 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nitrobabe H3 contributionsTook my kids aged 12 & 16 to the lido for a last day out before they head back to school. Weather was not too bad at 22 degrees. The lido has limited parking, but if you have a look on the website, details about alternative parking is provided.
We went for the inflatables season and booked a double session. So the kids had a couple of hours with inflatables in the water and a couple of hours general swimming.
We brought swimming rings for a bit of fun. The lido has free lockers and changing rooms. There is a disabled toilet as well.
There are several picnic tables and recliner sun beds that can be used, but it gets quite busy, so there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to get one, so feel free to bring your own seats, as we did.
There’s a small cafe which serves hot and cold drinks as well as food like chips, hotdogs and pizza and the price isn’t too bad, but we brought along our own picnic.
We were there for nearly 5 hours and staff made sure to keep the site rubbish free. There are plenty of bins which are emptied regularly.
The kids had a fantastic day and barely got out of the water.
They were both asleep in the car within minutes.
A most enjoyable day out and highly recommended.Written 30 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We split into 2 groups, first half went for refreshments and the other went around the garden with Andrew where he gave us very informative guided tour and vice versa. It was obvious that Andrew’s vision in creating his garden knows no bounds. It’s hard to imagine that there was no garden at all to begin with. A lot of hard work, time, passion, love and of course finance has gone into creating this magical garden. There was a surprise at every corner we turned.
The range of plants for sale grown by Andrew was very extensive, unusual and reasonable priced. You will not find these in a normal garden centre and definitely not at such good price. I bought an Alocasia –pink china in a 9 centimetres pot for £5 – you would have to pay £12 plus P&P to buy the same sized plant online. A lot of us bought many plants to take home.
We also found the compost toilet rather amusing and believe it must be the only one in a UK garden open to public.
Andrew was obviously very proud to share his garden with everyone and so passionate about growing his plants. He was also very knowledgeable, entertaining and was willing to answer any questions. Sue was very friendly and accommodating selling plants. One of us wanted to buy an Echium seeding growing in the ground; Sue went out of her way, dug and potted it up for us. We also adored the seating area and the tea hut where they served a delicious variety of cakes, cheese scones and sausage rolls. After everyone was served, the tea lady came around to offer a second serving and wrapped it up for us to take home for free – a very kind gesture. Quite a few of us took up on that offer and enjoyed our treats on the journey back.
We are a group who visit many different gardens. On this day we saw 3 gardens and the general census was that Andrew’s garden was the best; I am therefore speaking on behalf of us all - 50 people. The only regret we had was that we didn’t plan a longer stay as there was so much more to explore. A lot of us would like to revisit Andrew’s garden sometime in the future. One reviewer said they spent 15 minutes and saw it all. They clearly lack an appreciation for plants & gardening, came to the wrong place and should have gone to a shopping mall instead.
For our visit we paid £12 per person-this included entrance fee, guided tour, tea/coffee & cake and the ability to buy plants at a very reasonable price. Andrew and the team have spent more than 20 years to create this magical garden and we all felt privileged to be able to experience this garden.
We had a fantastic time in Andrew’s garden and left feeling so inspired.

Lots of fun and the food and drink are freshly made and absolutely delicious! Always made to feel so welcome here and my son loves it despite the fact that we've been so many times. Highly recommended. If you've never been it's for something for all children - it's mainly small world with ride on toys a castle and a slide - all indoors so perfect for rainy days too. We will be back soon 😊Written 8 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Katie RFrimley, UK88 contributionsQuirky little shop, packed with some great jewellery, lovely china and metal work. Bought some lovely gifts for birthdays and anniversaries. The shop owner was lovely - we ended up chatting about university for some reason and it turned out we went to the same college as each other - small world! I shall be back :-)Written 18 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CharChar20UK74 contributionsWe had a fantastic morning here: feeding and holding animals; bug hunting; playing in the mud kitchen, sandpit, slide and tunnels; making huge bubbles; craft making. The maze was fab too with stamps to collect along the way and a handy map to navigate the complicated route. Facilities were great with plenty of hand washing stations and the toilets were equipped with a baby change and toddler toilet seat. Our daughter is nearly 3 and had an amazing time exploring everything. I imagine all children would find something great to do here but especially under 5s. Throughly recommended!Written 31 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
