I was well taken care of throughout my trip. The transportation to and from the airport was uneventful and well air-conditioned. The jungle trek was a bit strenuous for someone who isn't conditioned, but I appreciated the challenge. It was majestic to see the jungle wildlife! The food along our trek was good and plentiful. And our guides were excellent.

Great experience with Monkey Business. Suria and Gill were lovely and very easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. I am traveling solo and was added to a group. It was 5 of us, with excellent guide Erwin and assistant Ritzie.

It was an incredibly memorable experience and we were lucky to have seen SO MUCH wildlife. We saw 7 orang utans, a white-handed gibbon, were briefly chased by a black-handed gibbon, and saw a ton of Thomas’s leaf monkeys, pig-tailed macaques, and long-tailed macaques (also ubiquitous in town).

This can be a serious hike; make sure you have adequate footwear.

Wow, what can I say - I had an amazing experience. The trekking was challenging physically, but the guides were patient, caring, knowledgeable, and focused on safety. I wish I could have done a longer trip, but maybe the next time. The food was scrumptious, the 1 night accommodation was camping style basic, but you are in a rain forest with rain forest animals. Overall we saw 8-10 orangutans, numerous types of monkeys, birds and so much more. The guides made it all the more fun. Truly a once in a lifetime adventure. The base camp accommodation was like being in a jungle movie. The food was tasty, everyone was super friendly and helpful.

We booked the 7 day tour incl jungle tracking, climbing the volcano and leisure at Lake Toba. We added two leisure days at Lake Toba. It was a fantastic trip, always accompanied by wonderful guides.
We saw everything we wanted to see, including the orang utans which is not guaranteed. We travelled in the rainy season which has pro's and con's : there are few tourist so you don't have to share the orang utans with hordes andere toeristen. But there are the occasional downpours so rain clothing is essential.
Hotels were good, we loved the Ecolodge and the Tabo cottages. Hotel Kalang Ulu in Berastagi is nice in concept and design, but its maintenance poor.
Food was good also during tracking.
Altogether a wonderful experience, and moreover very good value for money.

We had an awesome experience with the trekking in the jungle. We actually had the 3D2N tour. Our guides Anton and Riyan were exceptional. They showed us the jungle treks in detail with good explanations, also took care of all details for our safety and provided us super tasty fruits and delicious food. The dining at the camps were especially delicious. We highly recommend the trek . If you can ask for Anton and Riyan as guides, they’re the best!

This has to be the most amazing jungle I've ever been in. We saw male, female and baby orangutans, gibbons, pig tailed macaques, Thomas's Langur, peacocks, water monitors and some other birds- all inside of 6 hours. The guides were super friendly and helpful and packed us a great fruit spread and lunch. The river ride home was fun and refreshing. Would recommend this to anyone if you're visiting.

We've had 4 incredible days with the guides and it was a great experience! The jungletrekking was perfectly organised and the guides were very kind. They know a lot about the jungle and have shown us a lot of monkeys. The meals during the jungletrekking are very delicious and they served it nicely.
It was a great pleasure to do the jungletrekking with Sumatra Orangutan Trekking!

Via a search online for “jungle trekking Sumatra” I discovered The Jungle Guide as the First and Top Choice.

I found The Jungle Guide website to be Very User Friendly, Factual, Informative and Presenting photos of what I was hoping to gain from my trek in the Jungles of Northern Sumatra as well as a direct WhatsApp contact to the Team.

With WhatsApp I contacted The Jungle Guide with my enquiry and was replied very promptly within an hour via WhatsApp from a Very Friendly, Caring, Understanding, Professional, Obliging Ms. Senta.

Ms. Senta took the time to allow me to explain my request, answer all of my questions and then advise clearly what she recommended would be the best package for my group.

Ms. Senta never rushed me and was very clear and precise with everything The Jungle Guide would arrange for us.

Everything was Clear, Upfront and Understood including the Very Reasonable with No Catches Price:

Information on ways to apply for an Indonesian Visa.

Packing List of Essentials for the trek.

Private Driver from Airport - Bukit Lawang.

Private Driver from Bukit Lawang - Airport.

    Accommodation at Bukit Lawang Ecolodges.

    3 Day Jungle Trek.

Upon being furnished with a Clear Invoice and Secure Fund Transfer Platform I transferred the Necessary Deposit with Confidence.

To say l’am very pleased with the No Drama, No Hidden Catches, Fast, Professional and Friendly Service from Ms. Senta is an understatement which is why I’m willing to spend so much time here sharing my experience about this Worthy Team.

Upon reaching Bukit Lawang via the Private Car which was arranged for us our group was greeted by 2 very Professional and Courteous guides from The Jungle Guide who helped with our bags and escorted us to Bukit Lawang Ecolodges and assisted with our checkin.

The Guides never rushed us and insisted we took our time to settle and waited for us so that they could explain what time the next morning our adventure would begin and what we would expect.

I can write so much positive info about the adventure, however the main points are our Guide Mr. Olky was so Friendly, Polite, Courteous, Caring, Understanding and Informative that we were able to discover Orangutans within an hour of our adventure along with so much more wildlife.

I promise you will all be satisfied with the prompt, assuring, peace of mind that is delivered by Ms. Senta along with the Informative Knowledge and Experienced Trekking of Mr. Olky and all the Team of The Jungle Guide Team.

A Big Thank You from Marc & Graham

Our guide Jhony was a lot of fun, he knew a lot about the animals from the jungle and we often stopped for some explanation. We walked through the jungle laughing and making fun most of the time. Other times we were exhausted from the challenge. We are relatively fit, so Jhony took us on the more challenging trials, he knows all the paths through the jungle.

We were happy to see a lot of Orang-Oetangs amd other Monkeys. Our trip was a succes, also happy that Monkey business was able to offer other activities in the area.

Would recommend doing this if you are near!

Excellent tour with Dieki and his team. Well organised, and very enjoyable. We managed to see a range of monkey species, and the guides were very helpful for some of the more challenging parts of the trek. The campsite was well situated next to the river, and the jungle hut was comfortable to stay in. The river tubing at the end was so fun too. Thank you for the amazing experience !

We seen the Orangutang and other monkeys within the first hour in the Jungle.

He kept us dry for meal time and he took us rafting to get home!

This is a great experience. We, a couple end of 50, went together with 3 guides in the jungle. It is a bit stiff and sometimes only small space to walk. We saw a lot of different monkeys. Also we come in contact with some leeches. The team offers us very nice picnic and also lunch in the jungle. At least we had to cross the big river twice. Our Shoes become very wet. The camping side was simple and we ask to go back by raft at the same day. We can highly recommend this trak. I think one day is enough.

I did the one day trek with Andra at the beginning of August. The whole experience was amazing, we got to see a few orangutans, gibbons and thomas leaf monkeys.
Be prepared to walk for a few hours, the path is steep so you would need good shoes and long pants and socks for the leeches. All in all, it was a really fun day, completely worth the money. We got nice jungle food and plenty of fruit on our way to the top, so only bring the essential.

I would 100% recommend doing the tour with Andra, he's fun and kind, and great with kids! He took so much care of me while I was there, I felt safe all the time.
