Such a great time at the Rare Bird Distillery’s Gin School.
We learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the process of making our own bespoke gin.
We were made very welcome by the lady who had a great knowledge and made the whole experience relaxing and fun.

What a beautiful place. Recently took the family and joined in with the Fairy Godmother’s summer activities. Anne and Christine running it were brilliant with the children. Engaging activities, lovely stories and great games. An hour and a half of activities for £3:50. Chile and adults loved it. The children then did the pirate treasure hunt around the grounds which was a great way to get them exploring. The gardens were stunning and well worth a walk around. Stopped off for some tea and cake - delicious! As we left, Fairy Godmother Anne said bye to the children (remembering their names) which made them feels seen. Brilliant day out for all!

We called into the gallery with our young grandsons, and had a very warm welcome from a lady who offered us a coffee and kindly gave our Grandsons some owl feathers as souvenirs. The artwork in this gallery is stunning, some beautiful pictures and so real life. There are also some gifts for purchase - I bought an address book and a mirror compact as gifts for friends. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Visited the park on Saturday 6th April with family consisting of teens and a 9 year old.

The price to enter was over £250, however got a deal in advance that made this £150. This is still a lot of money for the experience received.

In advance of going we knew that Kumali and Flip Flop were down for maintenance. Two of the major rides , however with others open felt it was still worth visiting. What I would say though is you would think that no rides should really be awaiting maintenance at the start of the season. Flip Flop never seems to be operating when I have visited, maybe we are just unlucky!?

Upon arriving those who were tall enough rode the new coaster Sik which was very good.

However, one ride that I think should be closed is Hero. It is such a jerky and rough ride, all of us felt it hurt our heads and wasn’t at all enjoyable. Also one of the rides that constantly seemed to go down, which is a theme we experienced throughout the day…

We rode Mumbo Jumbo but by lunchtime this was down due to technical difficulties , which meant there wasn’t really a good coaster left for our 9yr old who came up just short for the 1.4m height coasters. It never reopened.

The water ride where you can be fired at was also closed, wasn’t aware this would also be non operational.

We walked the zoo which was nice, and areas looked well kept.

We then went to ride the F1 cars but this broke down once whilst queuing and then whilst actually on the ride itself, and it seemed to constantly be failing throughout the day.

We then tried to ride the high swings in the Dinoland, but this had now been closed due to high winds which is understandable.

Decided to ride Sik again but this was also closed temporarily so had to wait until later in the day.

With all of the major rides for older kids/adults down or constantly failing it meant overall this was really poor value for money even with the offer. Feels like some rides and areas are showing their age and with continual breakdowns this really needs to be looked at.

After parking in the small car park we followed the signs to the medieval village! Our young grandsons thankfully had their wellies with them, as it was rather muddy in places on the walk. Fascinating insight to the past! Well worth a visit if you are in the area, and the views are beautiful.

If you like an old time quirky general store then you will love this, much bigger inside than the outside, many rooms over several levels and it seems to have just about everything, cloths, electrical goods, kitchen items, DIY, you name it, it has it. Much much better than chain stores and adds to the unique character of the town.
Knocked one star off because I don't think it has customer toilets and other stores are cheaper.

This is a lovely museum with all sorts of very interesting artefacts. The staff are lovely and helped me with my pram when entering. There were fun activities to keep my little boy entertained which allowed me to have a good look round. Well worth a visit and for £3 per adult and free admission for children it is very good value.

A well cared for church with a fascinating history. Good to see the Romanesque architecture with little later alteration. Interesting misericords and good information boards about the Gilbertine order.

Flamingo Land itself and the touring/camp site were immaculate. The toilets, showers, swimming pool and facilities were all well maintained/clean - really couldn’t fault any of the facilities. This was our first visit to Flamingo Land, the kids enjoyed the zoo, theme park & swimming pool with plenty to do onsite. Although it was busy the cues for the rides weren’t too long and the older ones got to experience some of the scarier rides. The staff were all really friendly & helpful and we all really did have a lovely time over the Easter weekend.

Unfortunately our visit was tarnished by a group of travellers who were also staying on site. A fight broke out during the night, the police arrived and some were arrested and the rest were asked to leave. They were intoxicated driving cars around the campsite, revving their engines and fighting with the on duty security. I was fearful that one of them would drive into the side of our caravan where myself, my husband and our young children were sleeping. It was very scary but we can’t blame Flamingo Land itself for this as I’m unsure how they could control who stays on site and I suppose it could have happened anywhere.

Despite the trouble, we hope to visit Flamingo Land again in the future.

Can’t express enough what a lovely place this is to go camping! The owner Roddy is absolutely amazing, he was so kind and helpful! We ended up getting a flat tyre on the way there and would have been stuck without his help! If your wanting beautiful scenery and a private spot to camp then this is the perfect place for you!! They provide the appropriate equipment including fire pits and water etc which was just what we needed! Thank you again to Roddy, brilliant host, we will definitely be back again soon! Jake and Beth.
