Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing History! Incredible to learn & overjoyed to see restoration being done of the SS Moyie and cannot wait for the opening tour of it in September 2023!!

If you enjoy hiking and are in the area, this is one trail you must check out. We walked until we found the forest sculptures by Yvonne Boyd and fellow artists. My kids truly enjoy this trail and found it very entertaining.

Stopped here on my way home from Kaslo - short walk along the trail which leads right to the falls. Definitely worth a stop.

An amazing collection of mining and other objects - machines, parts, photographs, stories, things to make you laugh and cry. The guide who presented the tour made it a personal and memorable experience. Well worth the time to slowly walk through and absorb the era and community. Very real!

We drove to the parking lot that is up the side of the mountain so the hike to the top was minimized. It’s an easy trail to the top if you are reasonably fit (maybe an hour to hour and half walk up and then back) and the view from the scenic lookout is 360 degrees. It’s well worth the minimal effort required. The paragliders were flying in full force taking off regularly while we were there from the Lookout summit and the weather was sunny and clear. You can see the Arrow Lake below and all the smaller towns in the area. If you have a spare morning or afternoon, highly recommended. It’s make the beer afterwards taste even better!

The food and beer are excellent. I highly recomend this five-year old brewery in the quaint little town of Kaslo, B.C.

If you are in Kaslo, stop in and learn through written descriptions and lots of pictures the Japanese Canadian history of the area. Also there is one room that’s a replica of the living conditions during the war. Lots of stairs so not accessible for all.

Did the HWY 3A drive to Kootenay Bay Ferry up from Creston, and found a number of places to stop and enjoy the lake outlook, quite picturesque

The skiing is not for the faint of heart but if you are a good skier and want to shred the best tree runs I have ever skied this is the place. My two sons and I just returned from 4 days of great skiing. It helped there was lots of fresh powder. The guides knew exactly where to take us and you always felt the runs were safe to go. They say they can go 3 weeks without needing new snow and still ski untracked snow. The experience was not just about the skiing. The lodge was a nice rustic place to hang out. The rooms were clean and comfortable having just been renovated with new bathrooms. But most of all the staff were outstanding. Service was impeccable and friendly and the food gets 5 Gold stars.

Beautiful trails just 10 minutes-ish from Kaslo. Trails are track set for classic skiing (not every day but it seems pretty regularly). Trails wind through lovely forest and there are two warming huts, one at the bottom and one at the top. I also really like that there is a dog-friendly trail!

Interesting and a nice time spent going through the museum. Well worth a look walking around old downtown. Lots of history, enjoy!

We didn't go inside, but as we drove into town it was too interesting of a building to totally ignore. Kaslo looked to be a cute little town. We didn't have time to explore much but this building and a few on the main street are beautiful.

who knew hospitality accompanied such a trip. Oly, was not only professional, kind, and informative, he was a genuine pleasure to spend the day with. As an added bonus, we had a beautiful day out on the river. We highly recommend and hope to return and see the river in a different season.

This company goes over and above to provide excellent customer service. When the weather was not looking good for the day we booked, they offered to give the kayaks to us the following day if it was nicer. They are very safety conscious and ensured understood every aspect of how the kayaks worked before leaving for our trip. When the weather turned and the lake became choppy, they kept a close watch for a return to make sure we were all safe.
