Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This trekking was awesome, the views spectacular and the guide (Nghia) was excellent. We learned a lot from her about the minorities who live in the area and also about Vietnam. The tour was well organized and we had a very good and safe driver. Recommended if you are fit enough to hike for hours in the heat. We enjoyed every day.

It was a very smooth experience with Custom Asia Travel from start to end. Minh Ninh planned our tour well based on our budget limit and point of interests. The provided accommodations also met our standards. Special thanks to Mr. LAM, the field tour guide who went beyond our expectation. He is fluent in English, very polite and has detailed knowledge about Bac Ha, Sapa, Mu Cang Chai. On the go, he understood that both of us are hardcore photographers and hiking is not our main priority. So he kept customizing our tour plan further to make it more suitable to our need. He also helped us communicate with the local community which made our experience even better. Thanks to him and also to the driver that we could be at the right places at right time.

We are so grateful for this experience. The views were amazing, the people in the village very warm and the organization by Lam was super smooth. Being two young ladies travelling by themselves, safety was our priority as well as responsible travel, and our experience at Mu Can Chai went far beyond what we could have expected. We really felt like no tourist have ever been there before. Big thanks to our guide Jack (we recommend him very strongly) who was about our age and brought us around his valley. His English is good enough, and he is learning so quickly. Our trip consisted of the first with light hiking, the second day by bike and the third day was supposed to be a big hike but due to the heavy rain we ended up doing a Mong art workshop. The good thing with DCT Responsible Travel is that they really organise the experience according to what YOU expect that is the number of km per day, the activities etc. I strongly recommend this agency & Mu Can Chai valley to anyone who wants to get out from the basic touristy path & want to feel the local way. About the level of comfort, we were expecting something very basic but it was in fact very comfy: hot shower, wifi, mosquito net etc. Lastly, children are playing everywhere in the village, so travelling with kids could be super enriching for foreign families to see such different lifestyle:)

I met Mr. Dong on the slow boat from Thailand to Laos around mid October of this year. He told me his company had a motorbike tour in Vietnam that would change my life. I didn’t have much experience with bikes so I dismissed it at the time, but he had piqued my curiosity. I found myself in Hanoi a few weeks later and decided to send him a message on WhatsApp. We agreed on the five day tour out to Sa Pa and back, and I have to say, it was one of the greatest experiences of my entire life. It was exhilarating, terrifying, exhausting, and just so much damn fun. I spent three months in Asia, and this was the top. What a special experience. I loved it. Shout out to Hoàng aka Zoom for an incredible trip. I think about it every day. I miss Vietnam dearly. I will be back.

As soon as I booked my staying in the upper Homestay of Yien’s family, I contacted him to ask for any activity available during my staying.
He immediately contacted me on WhatsApp- perfect English which is also a plus- sharing details of the available activities. After taking a look to the offers, I asked for a whole day trip that could get me in the real Mu Cang Chai experience.
He got it right! He planned out a whole day ride in the mountains all around Mu Cang Chai!
We went to take some honey from the wild bees and it was wildly amazing!
Then we walked on a crazy hike- real steep always wear trekking shoes- to get to a waterfall! They caught some fish and crab for lunch- but still got a vegetarian option for me!
Then we kept riding towards the Old Forest which is a protected area! Enormous!
Next time I’ll be back- cause I definitely will be- I’ll ask for trekking in the forest.

On our way back, we stopped on the famous raspberry rice field terrace. I was there in mid April, so no green or yellow not water but still it was so so amazing.
For the whole day, including Lunch, it was 1.200.000vdg - oh also including 330ml of the honey we caught.
I am super happy with the day we spent together- so it’s highly recommended. Also, Yien is very adjustable he can make the perfect trip tailor made !

I've never tried trekking before so was pretty scared at first. But our guide was excellent in leading the way, providing me all the tools I need and he also showed me the best features of all the routes I went through!
Can't wait to get my friends to try this tour sometime!

A friend and I have just returned to New Zealand from a 9-week world trip in which we included a 7-day northern Vietnam Sapa, Ha Giang, Meo Vac, Dong Van and Ba Be Lake round trip from Hanoi. Now I would say to start with I was a little concerned about initial discussions with Mr Dong and how legit this was but this was all put to rest after we met with Mr Dong at the coffee club in Hanoi for pre-tour drinks and briefing. Neil and I had upgraded to the CRF250 dirt bikes which was a good decision for me in particular due to my size. Everyone turned up on the first day at our hotel in Hanoi including our guide for the trip Tony who I would now call a great friend. I cannot speak highly enough of this tour and Indochina the trip was absolutely stunning from start to finish, and all the accommodation including the homestays was top-class. I certainly enjoyed the rice wine with dinner at the homestays and the hospitality was outstanding throughout. Vietnam is a beautiful country and this tour certainly takes in the best of the north. Now did I mention the food? Tony would arrange local food and soon found what we liked along the way. All I can say is there was plenty of it and it was beautiful we eventually had to tell Tony to ease off during lunches as it was too much. It was hot and we should have taken a lightweight jacket instead of our normal riding jacket. The bikes we had were a bit older and had done a few miles but were presented in great condition for their age and never let us down once on the 1200km trip. they had good off-road tires fitted which made the dirt sections easy to traverse. This trip included a lot of smaller roads and hill tracks with some slippery clay which made for a better adventure with minimal main roads involved once out of Hanoi. We thought Tony was testing us a few times but we managed to stick with him and I think to his surprise as both of us are in our mid-60s. In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend Indochina Motorbike Tours and in fact, we are already planning on taking a team back in 2025 to do more of this beautiful country. Mr Dong has also offered to put on a van for our wives to tour the country and meet up with us at the end of each day which I thought was a great way of getting this trip over the line.
If anyone would like to contact me feel free to do so and talk about the experience they are most welcome.
    Regards Dale
