Momo was a very attentive tour guide to Fabric Town in Tokyo. She took the time to explain the history prior to the walking tour. As we shopped for fabric she provided a guide to assist with conversion.

Lovely little theme park for family with young kids. We have problem at the ticket machine as it was only in Japanese but the staff kindly help us. We got the whole day ticket, so we can ride as much as we want. All the rides were fun and the queue was not too long. Our favourites were the carousell, spinning teacups and of course the ferris wheel. There were many benches and tables for people to picnic. The cafe sells nice hot snacks like hotdog and fried rice. Check their website to know if there is any show during weekend. Their petting zoo was nice and the animals are well kept. We had a great time here.

Arakawa is an old part of Tokyo and worthy of a look as it is different to the more modern parts of the city. Access is easy by train. Yuyake Dandan leads to Yanaka Shopping Street which is narrow with many small stalls and shops and different.

If you want to experience the daily life of down to earth people of Tokyo, visit this shopping street in the old slam of Sanya. Go hungry and get great street food such as tempura on a stick , fried squid, croquette, etc, etc. It's really enjoyable.

If you're passing this is well worth a quick look, but not a journey. An information board explains how they managed to replace the Buddha after the 2011 earthquake. It's quite interesting the way they have worked the railway around the site. Surely more interest if I could read the boards but I can't. Five minutes of contemplation, a couple of pics, then on to your destination.

This was the most impressive of the four temples on the hill at the west exit of Nippori Station. This one has a small cemetery and a well-mainteined garden near the temple. You will find it at the top of the hill behind a wooden gated entrance. There is some English signage.

Huge park right near Machiya Station.
Just around the corner from the Totoro House where we stayed.
Swings, slides, free bikes and go-carts for kids, turtles, Koi Carp fish, swans, etc. Great for jogging too.

Toden Omoide Hiroba is a small museum of old Toden tram cars and is located adjacent to the Arakawa Shakomae stop on the Sakura Tram, the last remaing trams system in Tokyo now operated by Tokyo Bureau of Transportation and now called Sakura Tram. To get there take the tram from Oji and go three stops. The display is not large and not that impressive but worth a look.
