What travellers are saying
- Climber669865122973 contributionsConvenient, low-cost and frequent bus access (highway-buses.jp) from Shinjuku station. Perfect place to view Mt Fuji, especially on the clear day we had. The jaded bus/train station area has little to offer but a walk down and round the lake makes up for that. Beware inflexibility to reschedule after bus departure time.Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sunrise99Yorkshire417 contributionsHere I found a great place to see Mount Fuji. Blessed by sunny weather I witnessed such an amazing view. This was a crowded popular place. However it does have amenities. A cafe, a place selling icecream and a W.C. A place to call at to take a quick photograph.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Samuel PasaribuBekasi, Indonesia2,678 contributionsThis should be the best place to see Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi from one place. There was a long queue when we came and we waited for about 45 minutes until we get in the gondola. From the top we could see the Mt. Fuji and from the other side we could see Lake Kawaguchi.Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - geelongexpatMelbourne, Australia1,045 contributionsThis forest is full of life. There is moss and ferns growing everywhere. I’ve never seen the outdoors look so green. There is also some interesting folklore about the forests. You can hear the wind blow through the caves in parts, which is appropriately eerie. I did the walk from the caves down to Lake Shoji and found it sufficient. There is another trail that starts from Lake Shoji that I didn’t get to explore but I would’ve liked to.Written 30 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very interesting and our guide spoke excellent English. I really enjoyed learning how sake is made. The tasting was delicious and very well organised. Highly recommend. Took about 1-2 hours total.Written 19 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

There were many displays of antique music boxes, mechanical organs and other automatic musical instruments mostly from European countries. The main building also houses a concert hall where classical musicians from around the world perform and we were entertained by a Japanese Opera Singer.Written 3 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
