Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Nicola RNewcastle upon Tyne, UK157 contributionsWhat a beautiful walk - lovely views and smells of the trees
Really enjoyed our walk and the view point was so peacefulWritten 20 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are also very interesting displays of the history of Prince Rupert. One of the most beautiful displays was of different First Nation peoples dress and art objects. I recommend making this a high priority when visiting Prince Rupert.Written 16 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BarbaraMD59Williamsburg, VA269 contributionsThis is a beautiful garden that has been created in a small canyon that was used for ammunition storage in WWII. We enjoyed all the beautiful flowers and plants that seem to thrive in this martime climate. It was drizzling when we visited, but that did not take away from the beauty of the garden.Written 16 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeanette MCairns, Australia475 contributionsAn easy to find downtown walk taking you past lots of big trees, mossy areas, an old wooden bridge, etc. It's very pretty and a nice way to get a little exercise.Written 12 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Donalda J1 contributionRough road but saw a sedan coming down and had a sedan follow us up. I have a cherokee and the road was good except last 300m just because of snow. Maps says 15 took us over an hr up and backWritten 22 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LikeToTravelLondon, UK182 contributionsThis park piqued my interest, a Japanese vessel on display, a tribute to Norwegians who contributed to the community. It left me wanting for more information. Beautiful views, comfy seating, a children's playground and so I would recommend it as a place to rest your feet a while.Written 28 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Slim SLacombe, Canada19 contributionsI liked the BC Provincial Police displays the best as these artifacts are rare and seldom seen. It has badges, uniform, handcuffs, deactivated pistols, books and pictures, as well as a rare Pacific Coast Militia Rangers (PCMR) Winchester model 94 carbine 30-30 that is marked with the C Broad Arrow to show it was PCMR issue. There is local history and fire department displays as well, including an REO Speedwagon fire truck. Friendly and interesting staff. A great place to stop in on your visit to Prince Rupert.Written 31 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alhlstnamChicago, IL134 contributionsProbably not bright on many tourists' radar, a visit Kwinitsa Station is worth adding to any train buff's collection. Not very well advertised for the cruise ships docked and included as a short stop on an excursion. Pictorial history of the railroad from construction to operation with replicas of offices of the times. And outside the museum are two 1940's to '50's streamliner passenger cars, prototypes of Lionel cars issued at the same time. The curator - she might want to be called station master - was welcoming and thoroughly knowledgeable about the railroad, and current railroading operations throughout Canada. Cruises seem to be the biggest source of tourists and it's worth jumping ship to see how travel was done in the pastWritten 3 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sunsandwaterthebeachParksville, Canada75 contributionsWe were going from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert to Haida Gwaii. Two ferries. We booked the 7:30 am ferry out of Port Hardy which arrives in Prince Rupert 17 hours later! You need to be at the ferry terminal at 5:30. I strongly recommend getting a room even though they cost extra. The room itself has a sink, toilet and shower along with 2 twin beds and a tv. Try to get/reserve an outside room and you will have a window. You are not allowed to go to your vehicle whenever you want. Usually it's every 2 hours but that is up to the captain due to weather. I also recommend bringing your own food. Ferry food is expensive and limited in it's choices. (Pory Hardy doesn't have a great grocery store so stop in Campbell River.) Don't forget warm clothing, camera and binoculars. The views are spectacular! And the wildlife! Arrive 2 hours at the ferry terminal before departing Prince Rupert. The ferry is only 7 hours and crosses open water. It can get rough. Again, buy your food in Prince Rupert. The Safeway is excellent: clean and decent selection. (Food in Haida Gwaii is limited and very expensive. Quite a few of the restaurants are permanently closed or running on limited hours.) Ferries are an excellent way to travel. They just take a little planning. To see this part of BC in its natural state is indescribable!Written 9 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathleen H.10 contributionsThese people run a great shelter that is well needed in the area. I’ve seen dear, eagles, owls, and many other animals being rehabilitated there.Written 11 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GoldenEagle56Maumee, OH82 contributionsThis houses a nice collection of local art of various varieties. This is one of the better things to see in Prince Rupert as this town does not have much to do or see.Written 8 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - richard cVancouver, Canada9 contributionsThere is a small parking lot in front of the trailhead entrance. The hike itself is quite challenging, I would say more on the difficult side than moderate side, but it really depends on your fitness level. Certain areas are pretty steep and some sections are really muddy. I didn't stop much, only to take some photos and have a drink. When I reached the top, there were so many mosquitos so I stayed just a few minutes, and then started heading back down. I'm not the fittest person, but I managed to go up and down in 3 hrs 15 mins. The view itself wasn't really that spectacular, but the hike was an intense workout.Written 22 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
