Amazing visit through Mercedes’ history and their amazing journey. Cars are fantastic, goes without saying, but the whole concept of having the history of the car maker(s) intertwined with the one of Europe and the World is great. All the models are superb, the cars and also the other vehicles (bus, tracks, …). We were visiting with our 4 years old son and he loved it too.
    Definitely recommend

The range of animals, plant and marine life here is incredible. The is a huge range of well presented exhibits. The gardens are beautifully designed and in great condition. Highly recommended for several hours. Only negative is the very pricey food and beverage options in the park.

I attended Strotmanns with some family friends from the area and although I didn't speak much german the show was still hilarious and magical! Strotmann is a fantastic magician and true showman. The lounge is gorgeous and the drinks were great, it really made for a whole package experience. Highly recommend!

If you do not see the square in reality, then you can imagine a square with a castle in the middle like Vincennes or the Bastille demolished by the sans-Culottes. Something like this probably happened before. At least there was a military platz, but that's in the distant past. The castle in the center that gave the square its name is baroque with elements of classicism and looks more like a palace, and the square can be called more like a Palace Square as in St. Petersburg. Fortunately, the grateful liberals of Stuttgart put the corresponding column in honor of King William, who granted them a bicameral parliament. Very nice fountains. In one of them the figures are original, and in the second the sculptures were stolen in 1945 in the confusion of the Franco-American occupation. If you look at the New Castle, then the art building of the Württemberg Art Association adjoins it on the left. Next to it is the Queen Olga building, favored by the Dresdner Bank. To the right of the new castle will be the Old Castle, next to which is a memorial to Colonel Klaus Stauffenberg, the organizer of the assassination attempt on Hitler in July 1944. Klaus' father held a high position at the court of Wilhelm II, the last king of Württemberg. Behind the back there are two buildings of the Konigsbau, built in the style of late classicism in 1855-1859. Behind the right is a partially transparent glass cube of the Art Museum, built on the site of the Crown Prince's palace destroyed during the 1944 air raid.

The Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart is a wonderful way to pass time. Could easily spend the entire day just sitting here reading a vast amount of books on a variety of subjects.

The inverted pyramid architecture on the reading rooms is a sight to see. Every section and floor were books in English, German, Italian and other languages.

Killesberg is a great park and provides a wide variety of entertainment with al lot of bars/restos. They have a great tower from where you have a beautiful view on the park and Stuttgart. You can walk and also play. There are even flamingos. A recommended place to go to.

We had less than two hours to spend in the Nationalgalerie which was nowhere near enough to see more than a fraction of what was available. We looked at some of the nineteenth and twentieth century art. Many of the big names of the are represented - paintings by Friedrich, Carus, Monet, Gauguin, Picasso, Braque, Leger and many more grabbed my attention. If only we had had more time! We will go back when we are next in Stuttgart.

At the moment a lot of building work is being done around the main railway station in Stuttgart. Signs that appear to be directing you straight from the station to the Staatsgalerie are in fact taking you to the Staatsgalerie U-Bahn station from where the way to the gallery was not clear. The work is due to be completed in the next few months, I think.

One oddity of the museum is that visitors are not allowed to take any bags into the galleries, including ladies' handbags. There is a free cloakroom, though.

My husband and I were surprised to discover that the world’s first TV tower was built in Stuttgart. It’s a pleasant U-bahn trip from the centre of the city and then a flat 5-10 minute walk through woods to reach the tower.
The views from the viewing platform, even on a slightly cloudy December day, were gorgeous - we could still see quite some way in all directions. We liked the information panels telling you where other cities both in Germany and elsewhere were on the higher level.

This stretches from the main station for half a mile through Stuttgart centre. It's framed by department stores, cafes and restaurants and runs through the Schlossplatz, a large open space extending onto the "Neue Schloss" the previous residency of the King and royalty of Baden-Württemberg.
This part is a picturesque square framed by colonnaded buildings where food and other festivals, including the awesome Christmas Market and the Weindorf are held through the year.
Gorgeous in summer for shopping, chilling, local food, beer and proper German wine.

The collection in the Württembergische Landesmuseum are all about the local history of the land around Stuttgart.

It is one of the best museums I ever visited: you really feel immersed in the local history, through the exhibits, the explanations provided, and the interactive stations in it.

    The museum covers three floors:
    - underground floor has the glass collection, with glass pieces from the classical antiquity to modern ones;
    - the first floor has several rooms:
    -- the "Antiquity" room
-- the "Kunstkammer" (Cabinet of art and curiosities of the dukes, later kings of Baden-Württemberg
    -- the numismatic cabinet
-- three rooms dedicated to the Celtics
    - the second floor rooms contains the "Legendary Masterpieces": a dozen rooms will tell you about the local history from the Stone Age, through Bronze and Iron Ages, the Celtic period, the Roman rule and the decadence of the Roman Empire, the Frankish era, the Middle Ages, the institution of the Duchy and Kingdom of Baden-Württemberg

There are also a collection of Renaissance clocks and the kings' crypt, but these were closed on the date of my visit.

A Café, a museum shop and a lounge complete the services available at the museum.

I really enjoyed being there, everything was really colorful and the entry was free. Before letting us in though, they took our water bottles and drinks away, which I expected but still didn’t like. At the Neckar the rides cost in between of 7-15 Euros, and food was around 3,5-15 Euros, which isn’t cheap, but it it expectable at such an event.
