What travellers are saying
- BedujoopCistierna, Spain14 contributionsInteresting structure and great place for taking some nice minimalist pictures. The Rio Tinto Docking area has an interesting history which is worth knowing when you go there.Written 17 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ewa24Warsaw, Poland7 contributionsSpectacular beach, not crowdy, even during high season. We reached the beach during our trip in the nearby of Huelva. After some walk (appx 1 km) via wooden track we rached a virgin type beach surrounded by nice cliffs. Worth visitingWritten 28 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Allan RDorchester, Dorset19 contributionsI've visited several times in autumn. It's convenient to reach and usually good birds. Just follow the road and scan round. There are usually flamingoes, gulls and terns on the salinas. Just past the salt works, before the visitor centre, is a small pool with a screen for viewing. If there's water in it there is often a good selection of waders. I've also seen most species from the car park at the visitor centre where you can get drinks and maps. There's a beach at the end of the road.
One warning - the visitor centre has opening hours posted and these also apply to the car park. I once nearly got my car locked in when I had been for a walk and luckily arrived back at 2:30pm just as the staff were leaving for lunch and would have locked the gate.Written 22 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RiplisOslo, Norway185 contributionsImpressive monument in honor of Christopher Columbus (Colon). It's massive. A lot bigger than what we realized looking at the pictures. It's worth a swing by. Parking is limited close to the monument.Written 1 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mabinhoSeville, Spain1,535 contributionsA few blocks of historical "British style" homes, give another insight into the city's history. Quite quaint and wandering down a block or two.Written 25 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CFofLLFredericton, Canada1,458 contributionsThis is a very interesting little town and I'm surprised that I could not find more highlights listed separately on TripAdvisor. The town is now landlocked but used to be by the ocean before the harbor was silted in and is where Columbus and his crews sailed from. For example, there is the church of Saint George, where the sailors and their families prayed before departing on the voyage, along with a statue of the the Pinzon brothers, locals who captained the Nina and Pinta. Behind the church is the communal well, the Fontanilla and a lovely garden. Note the storks on the chimneys. The town is surrounded by lush farmlands as the area is known for the large crops of strawberries and raspberries that are exported all over the EU.Written 17 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - r0landbrunnerZurich, Switzerland1,848 contributionswhile the church of this monastery is not a big highlight, the view from here is lovely and the garden around it is very nice, done in best Mudehar tradition. walking from the city through the Parque Moret is a nice stroll and the gardens a good place to rest.Written 25 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - r0landbrunnerZurich, Switzerland1,848 contributionsa small museum, but well worth the visit. while the Bellas Artes (paintings) in the upper floor are not really a highlight, there was an interesting exhibition of a young local artist in a separate room. the highlight however is the archelogical part downstairs, with some really beautiful findings. for the explanations so, you have to understand Spanish, as there is no English or other language offered.Written 24 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
