What travellers are saying
- SteviefullKidderminster, UK1,699 contributionsEven though it was light coat weather on our little boat trip around the lake it didn't take away from a lovely relaxing way to travel just sit back take in the scenery whether its the city itself or the mountainous backdrop theres no wrong place to look.Written 13 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SteviefullKidderminster, UK1,699 contributionsIt's pretty hard to miss this if you spend more than a few hours walking around the city. Do you need to see it, not really it's just a jet of water on a lake but it makes for a nice photo especially on a clear day.
You'll see it whether you intend to or not, so embrace it and take a few minutes to appreciate it.Written 29 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Maybe a little bit expensive but definitely worth it.
Make sure you have your walking boots, is a long way to the top.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. While we enjoyed the watch displays the photos and history of watch making in Geneva were also very good.
Beautiful displays besides watches all in a very pleasant building.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can spend hours learning whilst enjoying yourself. - IJBPfaeffikon, Switzerland6 contributionsVery interesting to see this famous complex of buldings from inside and learn more about history and the United Nations. The guides were great, humorous nice ladies, however the procedure to obtain permission to enter the aerea is overly complicated. Entrance fee is low, but as its often booekd out, you have to schedule several months before. Group visits see to be easier to get.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tsetso KSofia, Bulgaria17 contributionsGood place for a walk and look at some of the plants ther. It amazed me there were plenty of poisons plants and the different types of cactus.Written 23 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - annwoodwardPerth, Australia266 contributionsTook my two teenage girls from Australia here in Jan.
Originally I was disappointed I wasn't organised enough to get to the United Nations but this was fabulous.
The displays and information were informative and interesting to my teenagers.
A very humbling experience with a great message about dignity.
The wall explaining photo tracking of displaced children under 5 in Rwanda was very moving.
I liked that it covered modern historical events.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Hearty portions of comfort food and well priced oysters to boot.
There are outdoor seats for dining in good weather and an indoor area with a blazing log fire for dining in bad weather.
I tried and thoroughly enjoyed both options.
Definitely worth a visit.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The top 2 floors were closed while we were there so I'm not sure what was on those levels but the lower ones were full of hundreds of exihibits of various animals. They also had markings on the floor so that you could make sure to see everything.
It's definitely worth going to if you are in Geneva--and it's free!Written 1 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Always busy, it has numerous cafes and restaurants, many with ample outdoor seating. Large umbrellas and coverings are in place in case of less clement weather.
An impressive fountain is a centrepiece. A circular basin is topped by an ornate column. A garland of colourful flora is an added attractive aspect.Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Glover123Yeovil, UK94 contributionsThis is a beautiful art museum with many wonderful works of Swiss artists and also many from more famous artists like Cezanne and Pissarro. The archaeology section has numerous interesting sculptures and artefacts from ancient history. The let down was the staff. I was aware that entry was free and they accept donations but upon entering there was a miserable woman who was really pushy that we should pay. Whilst moving around the museum staff were continually badgering us to make sure our bags were not on our shoulders which I understand is an issue in some rooms but the majority of rooms were galleries and bags on shoulders would not be an issue.Written 10 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
