Super beautiful and interesting to see how this house is so well preserved. It is even more beautiful than you can imagine beforehand. Also nice to download the free app that allows you to get information about the rooms. I personally enjoy visiting houses from this era, so it was extra nice that you can also have your picture taken in a real old dress. Also the toy loft of everything. Also nice that there was a scavenger hunt for the kids.

Very interesting, very well curated. This house has been brought back to late 17th/early 18th century. Lot of information available and the staff was very helpful and spend some twenty minutes with us explaining various aspects of the house. It is not huge, so you will be done in 60-90 minutes. Bring your museumjaarkaart!

Dordrecht is a lovely town to stroll around.

Well preserved gate to the city from the 14th century.

    Lovely crest adorns the structure.

Not much here but still worth a stop do to historical significance.

The Grote Kerk in Dordrecht is a Gothic style church and the largest church in the city. The inside was closed the day we were there but the outside is impressive and you can see the spire from all over the city.

There are WW2 museums on a grander scale, but this one can go artifact-to-artifact with any of them. A compact recognition of the nightmare of invasion and occupation; of courageous resistance and ultimately liberation...these are the thematics all contained in a townhouse-sized facility. We were fortunate to visit on May 5 '23, The Netherlands (Holland) official commemoration day of new-found freedom in 1945.

Here you can get information about the Biesbosch. How it was formed, what the influence was on the people of Dordrecht and the surrounding collages and what the importance of this area is at the present time. And ofcourse there are many beautifull walks in the surrounding areas. Maps available in the Biesbosch center and on your phone.

The museum tells about the start of the Netherlands. Dordrecht played an important role there. Also change in the water around Dordrecht is shown and how Dordrecht benefitted from the water.

Dordrecht's Stadhuis (Town Hall) was built in the 14th century as a cloth hall, rebuilt in 1544 and given a fashionable neoclassic facade in 1635-43. The 17th century look of the building was preserved during several restorations, but in 1835 a wooden tower was added to the top of the building. The metal lions that sit either side of the steps were made in 1841. It is a very attractive building decorated in neoclassic style and is a landmark worth stopping and taking a look and a photo of during any walk around the attractive old town area of Dordrecht.

This museum is relatively new (2015), but it tells the history of education in the Netherlands with something for all ages. Younger children will have a ball to see how their parents or grandparents used to be disciplined. Older generations will remember (part) of it and it will put a smile on their face as well.

A beautiful theatre, where we saw The Nits perform - and the sound was good too. The staff were great, though the bar policy meant we were unable to get a drink - they don't take cash (well OK) but unlike everywhere else we visited in Holland, they do not accept Visa Debit cards. In the end we had to broker a deal with another customer whereby he bought our drinks and we repaid him in cash. Ridiculous...
