- Ian GSt. Albans, UK94 contributionsJust behind the Château a hidden gem with great views of the river. Play area for the kids and a small zoo.Written 31 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jan LCanterbury, UK64 contributionsA good place to visit in the centre of town. I wish we had gone for the guide that spoke English and gone on the tour. Lovey art work . We didnt get to see the museum as we were short of time but will definatly do it next time we are in FranceWritten 24 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aero68Lassay-les-Chateaux, France22 contributionsA great art museum in the castle itself, with a wide range of paintings, reliefs and sculptures from the 20th and 21st century.
There's an enormous temporary exhibit space which changes every few months.
The art is beautifully displayed and very well organised by theme with clear explanations.
It's an excellent art museum and the staff are very helpful too.Written 17 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Once we had looked at that we crossed the old bridge into the town centre. Enjoy the views from the bridge and then the older buildings on the old route into town.Written 23 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter OCGodstone, UK194 contributionsThe current church was built in the 12th century in the Romanesque style although the tower combines gothic and renaissance styles. The church was burned down by an English army in 1429 and was not restored for more than 50 years. The stained glass was destroyed during the bombing of a nearby bridge in 1944 and replaced by new windows.
It was easy to park near by and on entering the church you really get a sense of centuries of prayer. The windows are different in style to most churches I have visited and it is worth spending time looking at time.Written 18 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In Laval there were several of these floating wash houses along the river, and this is the last one left. We were able to park near to it (free) and then walk to this floating museum (also free). The displays were all in French but a member of staff explained what we needed to know in English.Written 14 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christine MLittlehampton, UK40 contributionsAt the time we were there, there was a small but enlightening exhibition about the brain. It was interactive, fun and the descriptions/instructions were translated into English. Everyone was very engaged with it. Definitely worth the small entrance fee. The exhibitions do change so can't guarantee they'll all be of this standard.
Perhaps not so much a "tourist" attraction but a place to visit if you want to see what the locals do at weekends!Written 21 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very knowledgeable welcome from guide at front desk. Free to visit.Written 17 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Enzo PLincoln, UK111 contributionsI gave a concert in this church. Lovely acoustics and an interesting place to visit, if a little cold in winter.Written 12 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
