What travellers are saying
- Stwo S1 contributionReally interesting, lots of information about the castle. A leaflet with admission helps you to guide yourself around the castle and is also informative. Nice afternoon out, would visit again to read the information boards we missed! Lovely tea room/cafe and a nice little gift shop. An enjoyable way to spend 2 or 3 hours.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Scott P5 contributionsWe arrived on a cold Wednesday lunchtime with my Mum, Sister and two-year old niece. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly and felt the freedom to approach the animals who had such lovely and funny personalities.
The staff clearly have a passion with what they do to support the farm and it shows, for example I asked multiple farm assistants the purpose of certain facilities and learnt a lot.
We went on the safari adventure to see the Deer and were amazed with the interaction of the Stag and engaged with the ranger who clearly knew his stuff.
My two-year old niece went on the Caterpillar quad bike ride and she loved it.
The entry fee was very reasonable and the 'extras' were great value for money.
We ate at the cafe there and were impressed with the food selection and the quality.
If you're looking for a day out in Yorkshire, then definitely consider Thornton Hall Country Park, we will be returning!Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We always have such a lovely time here and our children are able to interact with the animals and feed them. I think visiting a farm is educational for children as it opens up a lot of questions and they can learn a lot. Some of the animals seemed hungry but I was assured they were fed plenty. The girl said the calves for instance had 3 big bottles of formula a day and then like a calf cake. In an ideal world the calves would be with her mums milking but humans obviously have cow milk so sadly this can't be the case. But again this can open up a discussion with children to help educate. The play areas are good fun and their Halloween events are always enjoyable. The cafe is cheaper than Costa. I think the entry fee is very reasonable too compared to other farms. My children love it here so I'm sure we'll be back.Written 30 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mauritiusbrideBarton-upon-Humber, UK890 contributionsLovely walk from Skipton town centre, good paths even after all the wet weather. Free! Nice area to walk with friends or family. - michelle dCoventry, UK30 contributionsOff the beaten track but very peaceful and beautiful gardens any time of the year. Love walking round here and enjoying the serene atmosphere. The person on the gate was very helpful and suggested other walks nearby. Have visited in mid summer and later in the year and the garden is always gorgeous with lovely plants and flowers to look at. Love the rock garden and the waterfall. Wish we lived nearer to visit more oftenWritten 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - amanda5805Duncan, Canada5,039 contributionsHoly Trinity Church, nestled in the heart of Skipton, offers not only a peaceful sanctuary but also a glimpse into centuries of history. Dating back to the 12th century, this remarkable church stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of religious devotion in the region. Over the centuries, it has undergone various renovations and expansions, yet its medieval origins are still evident in its impressive architecture.
Inside, you are greeted by a serene atmosphere adorned with exquisite stained glass windows, intricate wood carvings, and ancient stone walls. Outside, the churchyard serves as a tranquil oasis.Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
