Jardin Majorelle is a must do when visiting Marrakech, The gardens are so peaceful and have a lovely flow to them, we spent 3 hours there! Make sure you book this before you travel as the time slots get booked up quickly.

Absolutely mesmerizing! The Bahia Palace is a true gem of Marrakech, with its intricate architecture, stunning courtyards, and rich history that goes back to the 19th century, transporting you to another era. A must-visit for anyone seeking beauty and cultural immersion in Morocco

Our tour guide us walked us through and it was nice having her because she was able to dodge people coming at us trying to sell us something. However, it is an experience to walk through and wander and take in everything

felt like a typical asian market, lot of buzz, small lanes, huge array of small shops, street artists..etc

    some tips to survive

    1. Start with 1/3rd of whatever price you get quoted. everyone is out there to get you pay a lot higher. as a shop keeper said, Europeans bargain max 10-15% of the price they get quoted, without releasing the price is so inflated, that they would still lose out big time. 1/3rd or even 1/4th is the best way to start. walk away if you are not getting a deal. walk deep as all shops sell the same stuff. you will eventually hit a bargain. it is like a game of your patience to buy in the price range of your choice.
    2. beware - crowded places is good for pick pockets - cash and phones in front pockets. also watch out to the small scooters which zip past even in these small lanes.
    3. don't eat or buy before you agree on the price. eg : we had an issue with a man selling corn , who quoted 3 dirhams for one. as we started buying 5, a random stranger walks in and makes the shop guy change the price to 10 per....it is very common across morrocco, even in shops who are selling biscuits and water. you will see a lot of comments on scammers. it is what it is. ask 2-3 times whether the price they are saying is for the whole or 1.

As it is closed to the medina we went for a walk around the building. It is a beautiful building and historic one, and it was nice to look from the outside, as it is closed to non-Muslims. You do not spend more than 20 min unless you want to spend some time in the surrounding gardens.

Our first visit to The Secret Garden and what a lovely, special place.

The gardens are in two parts and the smell of the jasmine is divine.

Its not a big garden, but enough to take a break drom the frenetic pace of the Medina.

Find a shady place to sit and take it all in.

Its 100 Dirhams each to get in, a bit expensive if honest, but we enjoyed it.

It also has a couple of cafe's, which we didn’t try.

The place was undergoing renovation during my visit and most of the accessible areas were within the courtyard. You pay more than what you’d expect but at least you’re contributing to them.

The free shuttle bus that takes visitors on the 45-minute drive from the medina to these gardens outside of Marrakech is worth signing up for, but in any case the garden itself is worth the trek - along with Le Jardin Secret, we much preferred it to the oversubscribed and overly curated Jardin Majorelle. Sure, some of the art dotted around the place is... idiosyncratic, shall we say, but the garden itself is wonderfully labyrinthine, great fun to explore and perfect for photos. The attached mini-gallery, shop and cafe make for a welcome break, with amazing views towards the [much closer] Atlas mountains from the rooftop terrace.

Well worth the half-day trek out of the bustling city!

An interesting building with plenty of trains heading to all the main cities like Casablanca, Fes, Rabat, etc. Plenty fast food eateries too like McDonalds and Starbucks to chill in while waiting for you train.
