we did both sunset safari and sunrise safari for 150 MAD each.
It was for about 1 1/2 hours each.
The camel owners will take you only about 4-5 kms inside the sahara from the main road.
However if you are a die hard fan and have time and are ready to bear the sun, I think doing a safari till deep inside would be good though we did not have time to do that.
The 1 1/2 hours safari which we did in January end 2017 was a really awesome experience. Must do for travellers. It was really cold early morning so you need to wear proper clothes.
Another option which we saw many people doing and we thought was very nice is that people walked till the sunrise point in the morning and walked back. So maybe if you are okay with walking in the dessert and have enough time you could do one walk but hey...camel ride is an awesome experience so can do both sunrise and sunset

We had the best dune buggy ride on the desert dunes. The two guides that came with us were extremely nice, expert and really they’ve made the difference on our amazing experience. A very big thank to Amine which is also a professional photographer and took great picture of us!
Safe drive and lot of fun, this is the best way to get lost within the breathtaking red dunes of Merzouga, with no other tourists around.

Recommend trip to morocco with the camel ride in to the camp. This experience exceeded our expectations - it really is a luxury camp - the tent room was spacious and had a shower, flushing toilet and wash basin. We brought our own wine in and the staff chilled it down for us and the food was lovely...however, we would recommend Mohamed

We (me and my girlfriend) did a 5-days trekking in the desert from Merzouga to several camps, nomad families and stunning spots with this company. We had a guide with us, Said, who is not only the best trekking guide but an excelllent cooker. With us were two camels that kindly brought our bags and all the food, water and items needed for the camping. The views were incredible. Sunrises and sunsets must not be missed. October was an excellent moment since the weather is nice both during day and night. I would recommend them to any of my friends snd I would (maybe will) repeat myself such an amazing experience.

We wanted to get away from the crowds and quad bikes for a while and found this was just the spot Inevitably there are quite a few people on motorbikes who home in on you to sell things when you first arrive but they aren't as pushy as in some places. In November the lake didn't have much water but there were lots of water birds including flamingos.
We went back for sunset and it was stunning.

One of the hidden gems of Morocco, visited March 2022. While staying in the Erg Chebbi dunes, our Amazigh guides took us to the Gnawa music center in Khamlia and then to this art gallery. No photos are allowed inside but oh we browsed! There were two main rooms, a lovely bathroom, and a cafe inside. Both artists were also available.

Johanna is originally from France, and her partner is Moroccan. I bought a small piece of three women in red robes for a friend and the pictured bookmark for myself. We each got our name and other friends and family members' names painted on the bookmarks. There was a selection of designs--one a very attractive man!

I would definitely come back and buy more and larger pieces next visit. Johanna has such a dreamy and colorful style and many varieties of pieces for reasonable prices.

Our desert guide took us for a walk through this Oasis. It it fed water from the desert and we learned how different families have plots in the oasis. They get a phone call and can divert water to their plot that day. They grow various types of foods on their plots. It was quite interesting.

Great way to spend 30-60 minutes even if you are not a car enthusiast.

Some very interesting cars and 4WD on display and worth a stop on your way through.
