What travellers are saying
- behram2014Mumbai, India26 contributionsWe didn’t stay there but just went for a visit. There are lots or restaurants and hotels along the waterfront. One can hire a chair with towel and umbrella on the beach for about Rs.100 per hour! It is safe to swim in most parts with lifeguards on duty.Unsafe areas are clearly marked. There is lighthouse at the beach which one can also go and visit during certain hours.Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew DSingapore, Singapore398 contributionsThe beach just adjacent to the Lighthouse Beach may lack a landmark, but it is no less beautiful. Definitely spend some time exploring this area as it is still photography-worthy!Written 9 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tony_cassGreat Chesterford, UK209 contributionsIn my opinion this beach is at its best before sunset. The sand is accessed via a sea retaining wall, upon which all three of the restaurants adjacent to this beach have tables and chairs and serve serve both drinks and dinner. You can witness local tourists taking to the water, but judge for yourself as the wave break here would preclude me from actual swimming here but paddling is fine.Written 13 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bharath nThiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), India46 contributionsExcellent beach outing with family and friends. Wear light clothes. Bikini maybe objected. Very conservative local population. Drinking openly is not permitted. Paid parking facility by the beach side available at government rates. Old lighthouse, cliff side view of the beach are a few best attractions apart from the amazing sunset. Check sunset timings before you venture out so that you don't miss the spectacular view. Weather is comfortable with light clothes during November to February. I enjoyed cycling from Trivandrum to kovalam early hours of the day following the National Highway. Tender Coconut water is an absolute relish and refreshing after the workout. Eating joints and bar are available at affordable prices. This is one of the few best beaches I have seen in India. Do not miss the fun.Written 1 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Boat ride is a must. Not guaranteed that you will spot wild animals in the island forest. Very good spot for a day trip.Written 19 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- SandeepSaxena-IIPDehradun, India503 contributionsAavaduthura Devi Temple .... Nice atmosphere and very silent place...mostly lovable architecture...Most of the people trust the temple...Place of worship. Avaduthura Devi Temple is non-touristy temple where locals join to pray. There is a ayyappa, Krishna and other god's temples inside main temple complex. Wear full dress. Everything else is fine. No entry fee, no commercialized like other major temples.Written 10 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not is the concept of this village amazing, it has been executed in a meticulous way. The campus is gorgeous and well maintained created in modern indian architecture with Kerala architectural styles incorporated. There are multiple studios showcasing various art forms from across Kerala and some studios in fact host the artisans who actually make the products. Interacting with the artisans is a true learning experience to understand the journey through which the art form has come to life. Apart from the studios from where you can purchase uniquely curated Kerala art forms, KACV also has a wonderful restaurant with a great spread. They offer ala carte menues during the week and a delicious buffet over the weekend. The food and the presentation not only looks great but also tastes yummy! KACV also has a space wherein they host live events such as music and dance shows of eminent arts from around the world and within India. KACV is a truly wonderful addition to tourism sector in Kerala and i would say its a must visit for anyone visiting Trivandrum.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
