Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quality offerings. Quality Wines. Hands on winemaker ownership with award wining product.
We have followed this company at many events and visited with Garrett from Carlson Vineyards. We learned first hand about his products and processes which offered us an educated understanding of the characteristics in the wines they produce.
Exceptional and experienced winemaker that has many awards which presents themselves his his products.

An absolute, one of a kind, educational wine tasting experience. Hosted by Alex, the wine maker himself - a local "boy", with a BS in Analytical Biology; a MS in Winemaking from Berkley, and trained in France. Four of us spent close to one and one half hours, seated around his dinning room table, being educated, wowed, and entertained by this high energy, very knowledgeable, creative and amusing gent. All the while tasting each of Varaison's wines. Unlike other wineries there is no charge for this awesome experience. I recommend beginning your day at Varaison Vineyards and Winery, and going from there. You will not be sorry.

Crudités platter for two feeds two twice or three once, based on our recent visits. The selections of cheeses, fruits, veggies and bread are diverse and delicious. Meat eaters can opt for the charcuterie platter or sandwiches, burgers, steaks or salmon-topped salads.
We tend to add a bottle of red blend, which we usually finish at home. Reds, whites and blends abound so pick your fave from a flight. We’ve been bringing out-of-state/town visitors for years. With the change in ownership a few years ago, MLBV has never been better. Owners Nick and Holly are expanding the menu, adding hours and really staying on top of the wines, all of which feature vineyard-grown grapes or harvests from the surrounding Grand Valley. The setting is scenic (five minutes off I-70 in view of Mount Garfield) and the patio is the place to sit spring through autumn. Dine inside if it’s too breezy. Be sure to check out the gourmet desserts.

When I told my husband where we were going he was to put it mildly not enthusiastic. He ended up throughly enjoying the experience. Mike the owner told us about his farm, then paired us up with an Alpaca which we took on a walk. During the walk which was thru the peach orchard he told us about the alpacas and the orchard. At the end we went to the processing shed and he explained from shearing to finished yarn. There is also a small store which includes peach jelly mafe by Mike's wife. I highly recommend this adventure.

We stopped by on a hot afternoon after a ton of hiking to relax and cool off for a while. We had the chance to chat with Kenneth and discuss our pasts and the lives that had walked us here. He was very nice and full of wonderful stories. We shared our times of struggles and joys all while he told us about his wines and all the things that go into the production. We really enjoyed the Sweet White and took a bottle home as well. If you are in the area, stop and chat with a great guy and enjoy some amazing wines.

Many options to try making it hard to choose. We enjoyed the Mead and bought a bottle of the Chocolate Cherry mead for a desert wine this winter. Our host was knowledgeable and explained all the ones we tried.

While in Ouray, my wife and I were told that while we were in Glenwood Springs, we should visit Palisade. We drove over and spent a Sunday afternoon there. Having grown up in Central Texas near Fredericksburg, which is known for peaches and wineries, when I drove through Palisade, I felt right at home. The first winery we visited was Restoration Vinyards. It was a beautiful afternoon, and the seating is outside with plenty of outdoor space for children to play and dogs to run. We sat under one of the canopies and tasted a variety of red wines. They were excellent and we bought several bottles of each of those we tried.

We stopped here on a carriage ride wine tour on a hot day. Their Foxtails were delicious and refreshing. We also loved that they had local art for sale, which we were surprised more wineries didn’t do this.

We showed up shortly before closing on a Sunday afternoon and were not quite sure what to expect. The very friendly welcome we received walking in the door was just the start of a wonderful visit. We did the tasting of 6 wines and while we liked most of them we really liked the Riesling, Chardonnay, and Rose.
The scenery is beautiful and the fun patio area (where dogs are welcome) would be a great place to sit and enjoy a glass or two of wine.
The tasting room is a comfortable size area and it was enjoyable to have someone so friendly handling our tasting. I wish I had remembered the young ladies name that was helping, she definitely deserves recognition. She was very knowledgeable with the wines she was pouring and made the tasting a great experience.
We bought several bottles of wine and will definitely be back for more.

This was a lot of fun and gave us a chance being guests of the Wine Country Hotel to have a free sampling of 6 of their wines. The Meritage Red was wonderful.

This was the first winery that we visited in Palisade. It is a bit out of the way. It is south of town off a short gravel road. They allow you to do self tasting from a line of wines on tap. You are told to limit yourself to six. I believe there were about 12 to choose from. Since they were not busy, they said they would also allow us to try any of the fruit wines they had in the cooler. They gave us 3-4 additional samples for free. I tried to tip them, but they refused. We did buy a bottle. We visited 10 of the wineries around town over the 3 days we were in town. This was one of the larger locations. I did like the variety. I think they probably have something for everyone.

Peachfork Winery and Orchard was a very bright spot in our 2 week tour of the western United States. Phil and Mary were absolutely the best people we met during our travels. If you are ever in Palisade it is a must stop. The scenery we experienced was incredible but Peachfork left a lasting impression. Thanks again!!!

Lovely gallery in a vintage building with a variety of work from local and regional artists. A great stop while we were in town, and we bought two pieces!

Wonderful experience as part of our Trafalgar Tour of Colorado. Chris, 7th generation owner, presented nice overview of the operation, peaches & cherries, their specialty. Family also manages show horses, & seeing them was a tour highlight. Thanks for the gift of peach jam!
