Joseph Twitchell is a remarkable actor who did a fantastic job in our Living Tours. Book in advance as this living tour experience with an actor as your guide is a one of a kind, takes you back to 1903. The story telling is captivating and adds to the overall experience. The house itself is beautifully preserved and magnificently designed. The wallpapers alone and furniture are a feast to the eye. Had a great time. The Nook Cafe has lovely staff and good Zuchini Bread.

I had long heard about the Wadsworth but never had a chance to visit. Then they collaborated with the Detroit Institute of Arts on the By Her Hand exhibition of Italian women artists, and I was able to watch the curators from both museums talk about the exhibition. So when we were planning this trip, the Wadsworth was high on the list to visit. And we were not disappointed... from our first view of the castle and Tony Smith's Amaryllis sculpture, then the Kusama Pumpkin, into the Morgan's Great Hall gallery...through the Cabinet of Curiosities and the galleries of European and American art. Truly an honor to view one of Monet's Water Lilies and Renoir's Claude Monet Painting in His Garden at Argenteuil. Their collection of Hudson River School works is superb. And there are so many other wonderful works to enjoy throughout the Wadsworth galleries as our 4 hours spent there can attest!

My family and I went to see the Hartford Stage's annual performance (series) of A Christmas Carol. The performance was extraordinary, the actors were great, they brought new life to this wonderful classic. They theater is comfortable and every seat is a good seat. Highly recommended.

We have been to 49 state capital buildings & this is one of the most beautiful & ornate we have seen. The inside was under renovation when we were there, but there was still plenty to see. The House of Representatives has been restored to its original decor & it is gorgeous. There are many historical items to include regimental flags of Connecticut units from the Revolution to today on display you can see. Parking is limited close to the building, but I was able to buy an hours' worth of pay parking close to the entrance for only $1. I even put it on my credit card. If you're in Hartford, this is a must see.

Very nice ballpark. Easy to reach. Parking is very reasonable and nearby. Extremely family friendly. Staff is welcoming. Went to a game on a beautiful evening and there was a fireworks show after the game. Great experience.

Our first visit which we took advantage of due to free entry for children and one adult CT resident in July/August. We did pay $7 for parking (convenience-elevator brings you right up to the centers lobby) paid for one adult and extra for the butterfly experience (totally worth it and no time limit). Our grands are 6 and 8 yr old girls and they loved it.
Lots of hands on , some restricted to younger kids) but sanitizer and restrooms abundant. Crowded due to some camp groups. Some activities got taken over a little roughly by older kids. Staff didn’t do much and not all adults stayed with their kids.
    Overall a great afternoon !
Snacks on first floor were outrageously expensive but after a few hours they were hungry.
Don’t miss the rooftop gardens with a spectacular views over Hartford and the Ct River

Nice place to walk around. It was a little too hot for comfort on the day we were there, but we still enjoyed it. Great views of the capitol.

A very pleasant place to watch a movie, view art and attend a lecture or show.
They also have a great little bar!
Not the easiest place to locate but once you’re there, it is wonderful.

This is a small museum on the west end of Hartford. The museum displays artifacts, pictures, and items from different time periods of Connecticut history. Visiting this museum was very convenient for me because it's so close to where I live. I would recommend visiting this museum to anyone interested in history, or anyone with children.

Spending a day in Hartford, we stopped at Cedar Hill to pay homage to some American greats: Katharine Hepburn, JP Morgan and Family, Samuel Colt, and artist WIlliam Glackens. As we drove into the grounds, we found a kiosk with brochure to make your visit enjoyable. The Guide for Visitors contains a map clearly showing the locations of the final resting places for 26 notables interred there. There a brochure for an audio tour as well as one listing all the tours and events at the cemetery this season. We easily found the monuments we wanted to see and enjoyed the nicely groomed grounds. It is a lovely serene space to wonder about...enjoying the art of the monuments and the stories they can tell.
