We LOVED Cocoa village. Great waterfront restaurants, bakeries, little shops. People in the area were really friendly - everyone nodded and smiled as we passed by.

It was a wonderful place to stay for a week. Made a great base to explore the area. Also got to see a shuttle launch from the lcoal park, which was a nice treat.

We visited the playhouse for the first time to see Oklahoma! this month. Yee owww, what a performance!! There is so much talent in their cast of all-volunteer performers. They have a theater program for young performers that feeds into the main productions, and it really shows. Prices are quite reasonable for a performance of this caliber. It's interesting to observe how they made a large production work with this old playhouse: the stage is quite narrow left to right, but very deep and lots of ceiling space for flying scenery and props. No orchestra pit. No curtain either! But they work within the limitations so well - for example, the actors themselves stayed in character while setting props between scenes.

We live more than 2 hours away, but we'll definitely return for more plays. It was well worth the trip.

The Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science requires you to drive through the edge of a subdivision to get to this site. It has a large parking lot and a fence to separate the lot, building, and trails from the surrounding neighborhood. They have a website and a Facebook page but neither of these do them justice. According to their website, they are, “Home of the Johnnie Johnson nature trails which provide a network of both improved and unimproved hiking trails connected to both Travis Park and the Brevard Museum.” The museum is inside a building that has meeting space, and several exhibit rooms with displays related to Florida and Brevard County's natural history. The building is located on 3.23 acres and has the trails listed above. They have a children's playroom, 2 large full dinosaur models to the left as you enter the building, an Indian display to the immediate right, and an entire wing devoted to the Space program and the Windover Excavation to the far right. The museum may be a little dated but it has wonderful volunteers who are friendly and very knowledgeable. It is free, clean, and has a lot of great information and artifacts about our area. We did not get a chance to try any of the trails but plan to visit another time to see more. They have a scavenger hunt that we read about and saw several people trying to complete while we were there. Overall, it was a very pleasant visit and an experience that I recommend for any visitors.

Celebrated a wedding rehearsal on this delightful boat. It was an incredibly enjoyable evening, cruising the waters, enjoying adult drinks, tasty horsd'oeuvres, and a delicious buffet meal. The top deck was perfect for socializing and enjoying the scenery. Below deck was an attractive dining room for partaking of dinner and sharing toasts and stories. I would highly recommend the Indian River Queen for any private function.

We enjoyed just sitting on a bench and people watch for an hour. The park was clean and very nicely landscaped. Really good place to relax for a little while.

This is located along the south side of SR 520 as you are travelling west and reach the mainland. It is a fairly large park. It looks to have about 60 spots for vehicles with trailers and another 40 for just cars. It has a wide boat ramp for launching and recovering boats split into 4 ramps and docks parallel to each other. There is also a nice walkway along the water. At the East end of the park there is a place to walk under the bridge. The area was clean and well kept when I visited and it is obviously right on the water at the foot of the bridge so has lovely views across the water.
