So much to see. Even though the weather wasn't great, it was fun to walk around and explore the different shops and galleries. Definitely will come back!

A really great museum about Marietta and the surrounding areas. It is a small museum but has a lot of information and you could easily spend about an hour looking at everything. They rotate out exhibits frequently as well so you can go often. the museum is in an old hotel so it has a very nice historic feel to it. Across the street and down the train tracks is a food hall that has a ton of delicious picks for anyone. Also since the museum is at the Marietta Square there are a lot of restaurants walking distance as well as a few nice retail shops to go to.

I used to go to White Water as a kid and took my kids for the first time yesterday. Alot of the rides were closed. Be prepared to WAIT forever in lines because they have a very limited number of tubes for each ride so it takes forever to ride anything. And to get food, I stood in line for an hour to get a hamburger and fries! Also, it was not very clean. I gave it 3 stars because the slides that we were able to ride were fun but, could have done more if it was ran more efficiently.

This afternoon I visited the Gone With The Wind Museum located at historic Brumby Hall. The entrance is from the parking lot at the Hilton Conference Center next door. There is a small, but excellant collection of original memorabilia from the book and the movie.
Brumby Hall is an event center and the grounds had several different gardens.

Beautiful old theater, with balcony seating and a lovely pipe organ. We went to see White Christmas! A wonderful man gave a pre-movie concert on the pipe organ, a real treat! We were expecting a real movie reel of the classic White Christmas. Instead, the theater showed the movie off of Amazon prime! The sound was just okay. There is a concession stand with popcorn and candy, soft drinks and bottled water. They also have a bar where beer, wine and mixed drinks can be purchased. Clean restrooms and friendly staff. Note: There are no cup holders at the seats for your drinks.

Sope Creek is a real neat park. It is part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA) federal parks along the Chattahoochee River. Sope Creek is used primarily for hiking and biking.

Today a group of 10 friends hiked 6 miles around the park. Trails are marked with maps at junctions. Highlights included mill ruins along the creek and an old graveyard in the middle of park. See pics. Medium size parking lot which gets busy on weekends and holidays. Parking fee is required here (currently $5).

Three CRNRA units connect together: Sope Creek, Cochran Shoals, and Powers Island. One of my friends said you can do a 17 mile hike if you combine all of them. Nice!

Great area and worth a stop. My favorite CRNRA unit is "Island Ford" .... but all of them are worth a stop at least once if you are in the area.

This is an amazing cemetery full of Confederate soldiers.
Established in 1863, this was originally the resting place for 20 Confederate soldiers killed in a train wreck north of Marietta. It is the resting place to over 3,000 soldiers from all 13 Confederate states plus Maryland, Missouri, and Kentucky. There’s also a area where slaves are buried but sadly there’s no headstones for them.
There’s an actual 6 pound canon that was using the Civil War here as well. This is a wonderful historical cemetery that should be seen and visited by all. Highly recommend.

A great market with a lot to choose from. Very nice vendors and lots of great fresh produce. I bought some very unique handmade items that I love to use. I would recommend this market to anyone.

We held a small outdoor reception in the gazebo. We managed to distance and all felt safe. The staff was very helpful and the setting helped make it a wonderful baby shower.
