What travellers are saying
- tammyBaltimore_MdBaltimore, MD2,350 contributionsI arrived prior to sunrise, and had the whole place to myself not 1 other person insight until I started climbing back down an hour & half later.
Breathtaking views from almost every place you look.
Yes the climb can be a little steep at time, might be difficult for those with disabilities unless you have a cane.
As I came into Lehavre from a cruise ship I was not going to pay $70 for a ride there, so if you like to save money walk about 1/2 hr to train/bus station and spend ONLY 3.60€ round trip for about an hour in each direction, walk about 5-10 minutes to the sea, you can't miss it, or follow the sounds of the seagulls.
Definitely recommend if you have a few hours in town, one of the top 10 most beautiful places I've ever visited, and I've been all over the world several times.
A little cold this time of year with a steady sea wind, but I'm sure it beats the crowds in the summer, just wear warm clothes and good walking/climbing shoes.Written 7 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We enjoyed the chance to get on top of the cliffs and see the views in both directions (back toward Etretat and also farther towards the west). We continued our walk from the initial cliff to the next one westward (Falaise La Manneport) and enjoyed seeing the cliffs from multiple places and locations.
Moving at a fairly leisurely pace and stopping to take lots of pictures, we spent about 45 minutes walking along this trail. If you're in Etretat, I definitely recommend taking the time to get the view from the top.Written 20 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sébastien DSeine-et-Marne, France610 contributionsThis is the complemebt to do with the Etretat hills.
Quicker (10mn walk), it is a nice one as well with a great sea view.
You cannot visit the church but from there you can visit the famous Etretat Gardens and take the city train to go downtown.Written 15 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Juliet HReading, UK408 contributionsWe had not heard of this author or his gentleman burglar character so didn't know what to expect in this small house museum. We came away feeling well informed and enjoyed the visit.Written 4 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - filthurlowChesterfield, UK2,352 contributionsThe Cote d’Albatre is a lovely and beautiful area along the coast of Étretat, which offers spectacular natural coastal features.
There a numerous places along the coastal path which offer amazing views and unique photographic opportunities.
Some parts are high and fairly steep, so make sure you wear sensible walking shoes and bear in mind that it can be chilly with the wind coming in from the English Channel.

Service was a little slow, but a good portion of Moules & frites was served which was very nice.
Being on the seafront amongst other restaurants I didn't pay much attention to the name of the place and paid for the meal with a credit card.
We have subsequently been charged by our credit card company interest as it is part of their terms and conditions that interest will be charged for transactions at betting establishments.
This may only be applicable to UK credit card companies, but I wanted others to be aware of hidden charges that may be charged if you use a credit card to buy your meal here.
There was a lovely view from the dining terrace though.Written 12 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We visited in October where there weren't many tourists but there was a light but steady rain. This would not be a pleasant place if it was overcrowded with tourists.Written 27 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
