What travellers are saying
- david h3 contributionsWe went to see Crooners on Saturday and what a great show it was. This is the second time we've been to Princes Theatre in the past six months and we've enjoyed both shows immensely. We'll certainly be going back again.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Nice stroll on the seafront, winter or summer, you can stroll on the sea promenard, with some promenard cafes, or on the higher street level along the gardens. Pier is pleasent with a nice cafe/fisn n' chip place at the end, the Jolly Roger, also plenty of pubs on the street near the pier. Parking is easy and plentiful , with lots of free parking on the seafront.Written 24 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joanie HDagenham, UK567 contributionsWe went onto the pier after visiting Clacton to see family. It brought back lots of memories as my nan had a caravan there when I was young and I loved the pier then. They had a new crazy golf on there, it was clean and tidy, the amusements seemed well looked after. It was nice to walk along with places to get food and drink.Written 2 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alison TClacton-on-Sea, UK10 contributionsGreat place to visit with my adult kids! Staff give good training ... inflatables are such fun!... but knackered afterwards!!!!Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Conrad H5 contributionsWe have attended several of the series of talks held at the Jaywick Martello Tower and have found the speakers to be clear, knowledgeable, entertaining and often amusing. The exception being a gentleman who delivered two talks on the subject of railway trips to the seaside. As a former teacher he should perhaps have known better than to use his talk as an opportunity to air his political views and to boast of his connection with a former local MP.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - denisebondgirlLowestoft, UK99 contributionsIt’s a bit of a trek from the main car park but well worth the walk on a nice warm day! Ok it’s not exactly a pure sandy beach but still nice. There aren’t exactly signs explaining that it’s a nudist beach but you will soon find other naked sunbathers once there. The feeling of swimming in the sea naked is total freedom. Ok the downside like many places of this sort are the “Meerkats” that pop up or walk through the dunes and I’m afraid here and as in other places I tend to stand and face them out! My boobs and bits on full display and an angry face and I find they scamper away easily pleased! Idiots!! But don’t let it spoil your enjoyment of this lovely beach.

It's got beautiful golden sands, rocks to clamber over, rare vegetation such as Sea Holly and Sea Campions, and very few people. The only problem is that the council treat the place like crap or rather a rubbish dump - they closed the toilets even before the pandemic without providing new ones and do not empty the bins very often, if ever, yet they empty Clacton's multiple times a day. Best to bring a picnic as there are not a lot of good eateries around, but if you forget, snacks can be purchased at a couple of nearby shops.Written 19 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The food tasted freshly cooked on site. And, what’s more to like - the view, of course!Written 13 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
