What travellers are saying
- Joseph RobbaCharlotte, NC2,256 contributionsWe have 3 younger kids, so we opted not to do the Misery Ridge Trail, as it probably would have been met with lots of complaining, so instead we did a combination of the Canyon Trail and the Rope-de-Dope-Trail. It was a short hike, but the entire time you had amazing views of the canyon and rock formations. The visitor center here was small, but they gave the kids some free explore Oregon stickers which they were super excited about. There's also some nice bathrooms there. Parking was a few bucks that you pay at a kiosk. Overall, we spent probably 3-4 hours at Smith Rock and it was really cool. My wife often says how it was the most surprising part of our big Oregon trip in terms of how great it was. We saw lots of amazing places along the Coast, along with Crater Lake, Redwood National Park, just to name a few, and she is always quick to talk about how much she loved Smith Rock, so don't skip it!Written 12 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chuck2010Palmyra, PA2,636 contributionsWanted to walk the 1.1 mile RT hike to the falls ... talking with the volunteer park keeper, I find out that there are actually 3 different uses for the name "Cline Falls" .. .there is the state park, the trailhead, and the viewpoint. All 3 are different. This review heading should be for the state park that has numerous picnic tables, a nice restroom building, pleasant grounds, and access to the the river ... we had a picnic lunch there.
The trailhead is along the access road into the state park ... you need to park on the side of the road at the trailhead marker which is before you get to the state park area ... this can be confusing and luckily, we had the volunteer park keeper to set us straight ... we did drive out and park along the brim of the road and did the very easy hike to the falls.
The Cline Falls viewpoint is not in the state park at all but you access the viewpoint from the Cline Falls Road off main route 126. I did not go there but could see people at the viewpoint looking down on the falls ... Do the Hike! - woodmisterEdmonton, Canada1,333 contributionsThis is like a museum where folks are allowed to buy. Some items are pricy but most are reasonable. We found a cast iron cross and the most unusual pocket knife I have ever seen. This was a very nice two hour stop. The store had some really beautiful antiques. The store owner was interesting and friendly as was his dog.Written 17 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heather H9 contributionsWe attended the Bacon, Beer and Balloons event. Although the number of food vendors was limited, and the lines were long, we managed to find something to eat in a reasonable period of time. There was no shortage of beer and cider to sample, and lots of fun for the kids with the playground nearby. The highlight was the lighting up of the hot air balloons at dusk.Written 11 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GK360Seattle, WA180 contributionsFun stop to explore the caves here. Good flash lights are a must! It didn't take us long to get through the first few caves. It's definitely a cool adventure. I'm glad we took the time to check this one off the list.Written 24 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lori G3 contributionsSuch a fun and unique place to visit! Sad that the groundskeeper doesn’t have the same passion for the place as the original owner. I was more than happy to pay the fee. (heard it was donation, but sign said $6 per adult) A sign said ‘gardens possible with your donation’. I don’t think they use any of the funds for any sort of upkeep. This place is on the National Register of Historic Places. Can’t we get someone in there who wants to keep this place up for generations to come?Written 9 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Epic AAAdventuresRedmond, OR315 contributionsGreat location! Nice area to sit at and enjoy the summer weather. The beer IIPA and cider were great. The BBQ truck had some good ribs and brisket. all good things to say about these two establishments.
Unfortunately my wife didn't want to order from other truck, so we didn't stay long
The girls there were a spectacle and we could see right in the truck, they were touching the food with their hands and brushing them off on their clothes. One of them was literally running around wearing a thong and had hickies (I didn't know that was a thing anymore) all over her neck and legs!
Needles to say we didn't order from them, so we enjoyed our drinks and walked over to WRB ordered from one of their trucks.Written 3 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Just off of a Highway 97, it is well located.
