What travellers are saying
- msboujhie3 contributionsA gorgeous tourist area. It was chilly but a wonderful place to visit and take pictures. First timer and I really enjoyed seeing the star and looking over the mountain in front of it. It has several areas you can stop by and have lunch and also do events with family and small groups. There's a zoo as well but didn't get to see it.Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ucfknightedChattanooga, TN53 contributionsThis was a great museum. They had lots of exhibits and good historical information. It has a little bit of everything from carriages to cars to trains to planes. There a few of the exhibits that you could go inside and see what they were like on the interior. This is definitely worth a couple of hours of your time.Written 11 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David B2 contributionsHad an awesome visit at the Black Dog Salvage. Was so great to see so many creative items and look at all the vendors goods. This was always on my wife’s bucket list and she was thrilled to meet Mike, one of the owners!Written 4 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David M22 contributionsEven if you are not interested in railroads, photography or even period architecture, this museum may ignite a flame in you. It's that good. Unassuming at first glance, you will be pulled into a time machine. Don't be fooled by that monstrosity across the tracks which looks like a crashed flying saucer. This is a real museum where you learn, feel the passion and be immersed in the work of a gifted artist to point that you can in some small way feel what he felt. How cool is that ?Written 6 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TellmeaboutthatplaceOrange, VA17 contributionsSome lovely art in this small and free museum. The permanent collection rotates so you are never sure what will be on show, but it will be worth your time.Written 12 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - toslJersey City, NJ785 contributionsWe attended Sunday service while driving through Roanoke to Tennessee and my wife was so impressed with the openness and kindness of the congregation, we are looking into the Roanoke area as a place to retire in 5 years. Can't really give it a higher rating when one is moved to relocate to the area because of the church.Written 5 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - smcdanielAriton, AL576 contributionsThe city of Roanoke talks about the free things to do and visiting the aquarium in the Center in the Square is one of them. If you've seen an aquarium in someone's house then don't stop by here. The view from the 7th floor is supposed to be soooo good but NO. Couldn't find any other reason to visit downtown.Written 8 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jeana PRaleigh767 contributionsNicely maintained greenway. Beautiful scenery along the way. Excellent for walkers, runners, bikers, families, and pets. There are places to stop and sit, restrooms, playgrounds, informational signs, and maps. Highly recommended.Written 17 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Deborah H2 contributionsBeautiful peaceful place with hiking, kayaking and picnic areas. Can't swim there but you can canoe, kayak. Biking trails as well.Written 26 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lisa SHummelstown, PA9,940 contributionsWe had a great visit here last night listening to I believe his name was Chuck Johnson, a very talented singer/guitarist! The beer was good and cold. Very enthusiastic crowd and very friendly. I definitely would stop here again.
Note while they don’t serve food you can order from the taco joint across the way. We actually ate there before going to the brewery and it was good.Written 1 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. MMT is a great theatre but after so many years of carefully selecting a show, and then being offended by language, we have not gone for a long time. We went to a Christmas matinee and were pleasantly surprised. If this is the current caliber of shows, we will definitely be back.Written 10 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Justin R13 contributionsTook our 3 kids (age 8,5,2) while visiting for the weekend. Overall good experience but seemed a bit overpriced given the size. The train was closed due to complications from wether which was sad. Animals seemed well cared for and the outlook had great views. Rita the parrot was our highlightWritten 2 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
