What travellers are saying
- Brinley5 contributionsMy dad and I went together as we usually do. It's basically a tradition for us both, so we went. One time, we hiked the ice glacier trail (I think), then we went up on the top of the mountain by the "Devils doorway." You might be thinking, but what about Devils Lake?? Well, I also went there too!! The water was very cold because it was pre-winter but anyway the water is very clear!Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ed DPeachtree City, GA675 contributionsThe museum is quite impressive, and the circus wagon hall is worth the price of admission alone. Plan on seeing the circus performance; it lasts an hour. My wife visited the Circus World Museum seven years ago and said it was much livelier, with more animals and performers. This was the last season for the two elephants left. Thanks to PETA, “children of all ages” have lost the opportunity to see a circus with large animals.Written 29 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisamarie LMadison, WI876 contributionsThis was a stunning hike and worth the challenge. The first portion is fairly easy and leads you along the rushing creek, and is still quite scenic. Once you get to the end of the maintained trail, you will be picking your way through rocks and logs as you walk up the creek (definitely bring some sturdy, waterproof shoes) and eventually will go deeper into the gorge and come to an area blocked by several large boulders. Once you climb over that you will be rewarded with the little glen and pool with the waterfall. Our kids enjoyed it as it was a nice way for them to be a little active and even be allowed to climb.
Every turn I felt like we saw a new and beautiful view - we went during peak autumn colors and the entire canyon was glowing with light and color.Written 31 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It made us feel like Ringling's albeit for two nights only. With the Al Ringling Brewery (attached) it was a complete experience. We "lived" history! It was wonderful.Written 24 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DeAnne KMadison, WI12 contributionsBeautiful restaurant and outdoor patio. Hats off to the chef. Delicious food, beautifully plated. The bartender/mixologist has some wonderful cocktails to try. They also have a gift shop with their products of gin, vodka, whiskey and brandy along with balsamic vinegar bar where you and taste all delicious favors.Written 25 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lori Ann MWausau, WI67 contributionsShort, out and back hike. Pretty views. Small waterfall and a pool of water. Areas are fenced off to protect area and prevent climbingWritten 29 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eisme77Janesville, WI1,605 contributionsI caught this place solo as I was headed further north on I90/94. It was a beautiful, yet overcast, fall day for my hike. I drove through to get a sense of the park before I decided where to park. Conveniently located restrooms by parking lot and near trail head. I took the popular Echo Rock Trail first, and then picked up the Ishnala Trail, to the Pioneer Trail, and finished with the Cliffwood Coulee Trail. There are TONS of trail options at this park. It will require more than one visit to get to them all. It was very picturesque and not busy except for the Echo Rock Trail where I saw the most people (and it still wasn't many) since this short trail is very accessible and scenic. Definitely need a return trip to see all the beauty!Written 4 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SaraCleveland, OH6 contributionsThis was quite the experience. Challenging climb. Not a hurried trip. Small kids might enjoy, our youngest was 5, but they can’t be to wild as the hike is on rocks so much be cautious. Beautiful views.Written 4 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WildflowerMontgomery, MI695 contributionsBeautiful grounds and a humbling experience to be where the legend lived and died. Interesting signage to read. To see The Shack you have to pay and drive down the road. Standing at the river's edge was worth walking through lots of sand. This special place is a must see for fans of Leopold's iconic book Sand County Almanac, and anyone who cares about nature.Written 17 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BAKreiterMilwaukee, WI252 contributionsMy friends and I always have a great time shopping these outlets. It has an excellent selection of stores; everyone always finds something they like. Disappointed to see the Disney store gone, but we like to make our way to Old Navy, Ulta (new!), Crocs, Vera Bradley, Bath & Body Works and Five Below. Would love to see a few more food options here, but we do like the Auntie Anne's/ Gloria Jean's combo.Written 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barry GGlendive, MT271 contributionsThis was the first time our group of three adults and four young children had been to this location. They have a nice collection of animals and even though it was hot outside, you still got to see most of the animals if they weren't trying to get out of the sun and the heat. Free to get in to roam around the animal exhibits. Adjacent park and play area for the children and plenty of room to have a picnic. You can opt to make this a planned stop as you're visiting other sites in the Baraboo, WI area.Written 9 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
