I was blown away by how many stores there are in this small port town. There's plenty of fine dining in the main square, too. I walked out to De Goese Golf for lunch just outside of town, too.

Lovely activity for train enthusiasts, those young at heart or generally historically interested. Lovely way to feel and experience history. The steamtrain and it's stations give you moneys worth of experiences and was a good days activity. This is indeed best experienced on a sunny day, but despite the rain we had a good day.

Sometimes it was obvious that this was not very professional, but my hat off to all the volunteers making the train running days come through.

A table nicely set was waiting for us and the high tea got explained how it was made, in what order and what was what. Lovely, it looked like a picture and tasted very nice.

We visited the Brewery for coffee on our first day. The weather was good and they had a fabulous garden. Looking around we saw lots of people eating, so decided to return for dinner after a concert/recital in the church opposite. Best food around. Friendly Staff. Good Value. Great Beer, of course, and Wines. A few days later we did the brewery tour. Difficult in extreme heat and only held in Dutch so hard to understand, but perhaps we could have taken an English tour, just couldn't fit it in. Nice tasting of beers at the end.

The building is more like a conglomerate consisting of different parts. End 18th century the architect attempted a composition that worked out well. Especially the facade at Grote Markt with old medieval tower and classical structure (1779) all in Gothic style is nice-looking.

This museum has what you would expect a historic museum to have. Some old paintings, some items from guilds, some items from the town hall, and some medieval prison items. On top of that some armour from the 80-years war, and even some Roman stones. One floor is dedicated to Zeeuwse hats and another to Zeeuwse clothing, particularly dresses. All quite nice, but nothing spectacular.

Completed in 1621 after a fire destroyed most of the 15th century structure. Impressive that after a period of almost 400 years the Gothic style church is still standing and in good shape. It is a protestant church dedicated to Mary Magdalene, who by believers at the time was not seen as a repentent prostitute, but as one of the most dedicated disciples of Jesus (present at his crucifixion and burial, witness of his resurrection).

Inside the splendor of the organ crowned with a Turkish hat in 1734 stands in sharp contrast to the dominant sober protestant interior.

Nice golf course with lots of water. Be prepared that you might loose lots of balls.
Nice restaurant with a good menu for enjoying when finished your golfing. Beautiful outside area.

This is a lovely wood with many trees. A river runs through it and willow trees embellish the water. It was sunny the day we were there, which makes it a leisurely and enjoyable walk through these wood. It took us around an hour to visit this beautiful place.

However, we eventually had to go back in town as we were hungry. Next time we will visit it even more vigorously.
