Greg was born and brought up on St. Kitts and Nevis and following his return home from College in Nova Scotia Canada in 1980, started working at his Parents hotel, the Ocean Terrace Inn, with one of his jobs being to do tours for the hotels guests. While growing up on St. Kitts, Greg's parents became leaders in the local Tourism Industry, starting one of the first hotels in the islands, with Greg's Dad, eventually receiving the "Order of the British Empire" (OBE), from the St. Kitts Government for his outstanding achievements in local Industry. This has given Greg a unique grounding as well as a deep sense of understanding for his home country and coupled with his tourism training abroad, has allowed him to become one of leading and longest serving tour guides in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Greg and his team of certified Tour Guides have won many awards from the Tourism Authority for their businesses high standards of service. From the very beginning Greg has used modified, 4X4 Land Rovers to do his "unique" island Safaris with. Being specially made, the 8 Land Rovers he uses today, are all open sided with mostly forward facing, stadium orientated seating, that provide his guests with the best way to experience exploring beyond the shores of St. Kitts and Nevis. Greg's Safaris is the only tour company in the Federation that uses 4X4 Land Rovers for touring on both islands! For your private, half days hiking pleasure, Greg has created two "unique looped hiking trails", one at the Phillips Mountain Valley (2 miles long), and at the other at the Wingfield River Valley (2 1/2 miles long), on St. Kitts. His company is also the only one on St. Kitts to offer driving tours from coast to coast through the lushly forested interior and while traveling through the mountains his guests would have access to a private 5 acre "mountain top property", perched1000 feet sea level, a place of cool temperatures and breathtaking views, that can only be experienced on a "one of kind" 4X4 Safari Tour with him and his guides. Greg is one of the founding members of the St. Christopher National Trust and as well, sits on the Central Forest Reserve National Park Committee. He is also a Life Member of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Brimstone Hill National Park and is also part owner of Sky Safaris, a company he started in 2009.

Wanted to do something besides the beach. This was worth our time. Great history and amazing views. Would definitely recommend this.

We went on a fantastic mornings drive with Greg and his team. So informative and we never felt rushed.

We cannot recommend this trip enough.

St Kitts cruise port seems to have the most confusion of any when just trying to catch a cab to the beach as they're constantly looking to get groups of 10-12 persons to load onto their transports. Didn't really see ordinary taxis but maybe they're there somewhere. Took about 30-min to get going. But once going it was great.
Socrates was our driver of what turned out to be an open air vehicle which was ideal for the 25-min drive to Cockleshell Beach (Only $5/person each way!). Just a picturesque island that u can't grasp enough if you're in a closed vehicle. Socrates had great commentary along the way. We were dropped off at a random location centered amongst a long row of beach bar establishments. The nearest one to our drop-off of course acted like we should immediately settle in at that location but we were not deterred as we were looking for the Reggae Bar Beach (Last Bar left from drop-off point), a recommendation from a fellow cruiser we had met. That's where we ended up & it was a pretty good choice.
Although the far end of the beach (to the right of the drop-off point) was slightly more modern looking w/ better views, Reggae was packed and had a great kitchen w/ best prices on food & drink when compared to their beach bar neighbors. Whole lobster actually affordable & tasted great! Hint: Order lunch before the big crowd does.
For a somewhat ordinary beach w/ no waves everybody seemed to be having a great time there. Water sports were busy, service was outstanding & restroom easily accessible. 2-Chairs w/Umbrella were $30. Chairs without Umbrella available. Socrates was ready for pick-up when & where he said he would be and we made the picturesque ride back to the ship in time with no issues.

A wonderful place that offers many beautiful surprises, be it in the back garden or at the front by the pool, or in The View restaurant, I always immediately found myself in a deeply relaxed state. That's what makes this place so very special for me.

The staff are very professional, not intrusive, but naturally warm-hearted and friendly. I always felt very comfortable.

The Prices are fair and very reasonable for such a sophisticated place and allow space for every budget.

The pool has salt water, which I also really liked.
The garden in particular is lovingly tended by the owner Claudia and her team. And one can feel the respect and care for the plants and trees. I have not found a more beautiful place on St. Kitts, where so much attention is paid to each detail to make you feel at home.

Taxi will always drop you off at the Cariloha Beach Club, where you will queue to pay $5 to enter and use facilities, $10 per beach chair and $10 for a parasol for a busy crowded beach. Ignore the pay desk, walk to the beach, turn left and keep on walking.

There are a couple of beach shacks. We stopped approx mid-way along the beach. We paid $10 for beach chairs and used the overhead palm fronds for shade at the Discovery Beach Bar. Enjoyed our rum punch but didn’t order food. Beach and sea without the crowds

I wished I'd taken my underwater camera when I snorkled, within a few feet I discovered a reef which ran along towards the left end of the beach towards the darker sand. Within a few minutes I found a large conch sea shell, numerous fish, especially a large puffer, small and very large starfish, best of all an Eagle Ray swam in front of me slow enough to admire at leisure. Later walked back for taxi pick-up

Beautiful place, lovely gardens, interesting history. The batik demo and shop was a highlight. It's a short walk over to the rum distillery. We spent 2 hours total.

We did a rainforest hike with O’Neil and it was exceptional! He was a wealth of knowledge, explaining the history and pointing out all plant and animal life along the trails. My kids loved keeping pace with him, asking him questions along our experience. Was a great day!

We did the culinary demo/rum tasting from our cruise ship. This is the second time that we've done a similar tour. The bus picked us up promptly and was clean and had good AC. The drive to the Great House is not very long.

When we arrived, we were escorted to the demo area, which had ample seating and good views of the chef. It's not air conditioned but there were several fans and a breeze. The chef did an excellent job a preparing and explaining the food. There was also a guide that gave us an overview of the history of the estate.

After eating, we had quite a bit of free time (maybe too much) before the rum tasting, which was also well done. Shortly thereafter, our transportation arrived to take us back to the ship.

    This was an enjoyable excursion,

We visited the area as a shore excursion. It's a beautiful drive to get there and views are amazing with the Atlantic on one side, the Pacific on the other. Lots of millionaire homes in the area. There were stalls that sold trinkets at the top along with a couple of men taking pictures of you and their monkeys.

Phillip greeted us and entertained us from the minute the tour started until sadly we had to leave after our hour tour. We have done gardens on other islands but loved how this had sturdy walking paths and handrails were needed. A warning to those with bad knees there are a number of up and down stairs but as a knee replacement recipient I was able to maneuver without a problem. The elderly struggled a bit but everyone enjoyed it.

Beautiful flowers, trees garden statues. This home has been in Phillip’s wife’s family for 7 generations. The home has survived many hurricanes. The floors are all original hardwood in excellent condition. A room filled with collectibles from around the world were also on view. They also rescue animals that were injured and have monkeys, turtles, love birds and parrots.

We were invited down to Phillip’s “man cave” for a rum punch, beer, soda or water and on the way out stopped in to meet his daughter in her cute little souvenir shop.

Like everything else in St. Kitts this is an unmaintained beautiful spot. There is a deck where you can look out. If you are brave you can climb down the rocks. Watch the tide. It is easy to be mesmerized by your surrounding and find it rising before you make your way back. Grassy area had stalls. Vendors were not overly aggressive and there are great find like the wood carver who sold his amazing creations for reasonable prices.

If you visit St. Kitts rent a car for a day or two. Drive to the southern tip of St Kitts via the government built good road. At the southern tip where the Ferry to Nevis docks there is a beautiful beach at Major's Bay. You can park anyplace and enjoy the pristine waters. There is an old sunken barge in the bay and that's it. If you find 4 or5 people on the 1/2 mile long beach that will be a crowded day. Beautiful views of Nevis and total relaxation away from the tourist crowds
