What travellers are saying
- Peter M19 contributionsThe best place to go!
We've been viming every year, and always it was a succes! Except for the food offering.. Then they opened Flintehuset and it was fantastic, food and surroundings!
Today we went again, but Flintehuset menu was dropped. Really sad to see that! Hope they shape it up again to earn that 5-star!Written 3 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is located right down to the beautiful Søndersø.
The Gothic cathedral is built of red brick as a hall church with a nave flanked by equally high aisles with a common roof. The church was originally built as part of a double monastery - located between a nunnery and a monastery. Back in 1596 when Maribo's old village church burned down, the abbey church became the city's new church and in 1803, the church changed its status to a cathedral.
Through the ages the church has been subject to various rebuilds and in the 1890s, the church was restored to its original form, so that today the church stands as a bid for what it may have looked like as a monastery church in the Middle Ages.
The cathedral is open for visits all week at 9.00 - 17.00.Written 18 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. (But you better stay off the "city", uncommonly ugly and rotten place for danish proportions)
Slight disadvantage: Waste water disposal and fresh water bunkering is possible but inconvenient - for takers and passers since it is that narrowly positioned.Written 7 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It occupies an attractive site, overlooking the lakes in Maribo. The old houses represent the lifestyles of all the classes of society. They are well-maintained despite the passage of time, furnished with appropriate furniture and have colourful gardens. There is even a Cockerell strolling around with a possessive air, accompanied by several hens. The various displays are described in Danish, but the bookshop sells an excellent illustrated guide to the various houses, which contains a short summary in English.Written 18 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ivar T139 contributionsThis art museum is located "In the middle of nowhere" but it offers art of very high quality. It is a beautiful place presenting the art without disturbance and therefore it is a good place to study the art.
I give only four stars as I'm not happy with the objects in the sense that it tries cover to many areas instead of focus its collection.Written 20 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We saw how the staff in historic clothes lit up the old wood burning stove and made soup from old recipes, we walk in the giant halls and in the beautiful garden. The museum is like the past coming alive, the old manor estate the history and the tales of those who lived their.Written 4 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OryginalenIshoej, Denmark99 contributionsA great place for all lovers of flowers and trees. In the old part of the garden you can feel the love there they have for plants. It so cosy and well made. In the new part you can see how professional they work.Written 14 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenna K1 contributionReally beautiful gallery, and a wonderful exhibition. Lot of the artists are international so the exhibition is diverse. Space is full of different and amazing artworks and surprising details. I really recommend a visit here!Written 15 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ivar T139 contributionsMy wife and I live in a former railway station and therefore we really enjoyed to visit the former railway station at Bandholm.
The station gave a really good impression of the life at a railway station and we recognized many details which we will look for while redoing our own "station".
The staff told us many good stories and we could share experiences about maintenance. Super!Written 20 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
