What regular transport is available from Smithfield Terminal parking lot to Freshwater Station? Cost per person?
Hello, Lloyd. I'm writing to follow up about your comment that it is worth it to take Gold Class (instead of regular class) on the Kuranda Railway (in the rain forest near Cairns, Australia). I realize that it has been five years since you made this comment, but do you remember specifically why you thought it was worth it? Thank you in advance for your reply.
we are planning to take the rail trip off a cruise ship in November. Are there any restroom facilities on the train?
Any info would be appreciated.
I see a lot of people here saying the town of Kuranda itself is not worth spending too much time in. I want to do gold class which would leave us only an hour there for lunch or whatever. The Rail people have suggested we do the 8:30 train from Cairns to get two hours, but there is no gold class for that one. What do you all think? What is there to actually DO in Kuranda proper. We need to leave on the skyrail down at the 12:30 time because we are doing the aboriginal theatre.
Hi, we are visiting Cairns at the end of Sept, early Oct this year, and will likely stay at Trinity beach. We will have a hire car. Where would be the best place for us to take the train to Kuranda? Is the train station and skyrail in the same approximate area? Is there parking if we need to travel to pick up/drop off points in the car? Many thanks.
We are staying in Port Douglas. Can we do the Scenic Railway and the sky rail from Port Douglas or do we have to go to Cairns.
How suitable is this trip and access to Kuranda village for someone with limited mobility? (i.e. can only climb a few steps and uses a wheelie walker when shopping)
