Looking for something spooky for the kids on Halloween - is this tour suitable for children or not really?

No! That’s not to say that the guide couldn’t tailor this if you gave him the age group. A lot of the information is historical ( the pub door covered in human skin!) and cinemas that are haunted! Acts of parliment, how the firefighters knew which houses were covered by insurance etc. I wouldn’t take children under 12 but if you spoke to the man who was so informative in advance as I said he may tailor it accordingly.

How old are your children? I wouldn't say it's suitable for young children, they would find it boring as it's a lot of history and the Ghost Stories can be quite frightening but you could always contact John the tour guide and ask him to make it a bit more child friendly for you, I am sure he would be happy to do so if you booked a private tour like I did with my Husband!
