I can say that it depends on your fitness level as to whether or not you wish to walk to the V&A. If you'd like to see the neighborhood then walk. Give yourself 30 minutes. If you just want to get to the area, take the tube from the station around the corner. Harrod's is just up the street, as well. Plan the whole day for these things.

Yes to hair dryers-- Looks like you have the answer on the V&A. The tube is so close to the hotel (2-3minute walk) it is always an option.

Yes to hairdryer.

And yes, a 20 minute walk (max) brought me to the Science museum, which is next the V&A and the same distance from the hotel.

Yet here are hair dryers in rooms. Quite a fair walk to V&A but tube station very close at Earls Court.

Yes to hairdryer and a better quality one than most, I recall. V&A is about a mile away according to Google maps, so depending on your own wish to walk....or a couple of tube stops

If you don't mind 20-25 minutes walking, or take the Tube from Earl's Court Road (400') to South Kensington (two stops) and walk 10 minutes.

No idea about the rooms as I only ate in the restaurant and didn't stay in the hotel. Yes, you could walk to the V&A but I would get on the tube, a couple of stops or so.
