How long should you allow for visit?
I would allow 2-3 hours at minimum - tack on another hour for lunch and gift shop. We found some amazing things in their design gift shop that made the stop even more worthwhile.
An hour will do if you are just casual visiting. I spent 2 and half hour there but I did spend 45 minutes in their lovely cafe.
Well, I got easily distracted by their displays - they are very quirky, and I could have spent much longer in their main room. If you have lunch and do the additional temporary exhibitions you could do four or five - just depends on what you want to do and how much time you have... Not very helpful - but if you read all the notices, will take longer...Sorry about this - depends on too many factors!
I would agree about two hours, longer if you want a meal, of course, and longer if you want to spend much time in the gift shop, which is interesting in itself.
I would suggest 2 to 3 hours depending on how detailed you want to do the exhibitions.
I would say from 1-2 hours. Depends on are you reading every description or just having a quick look
I only went in for a quick lunch in the cafe but still took half an hour in the downstairs temporary exhibition room. I would say you would need at least half a day to visit the rest of the building.
I read everything and try and make the most of my visit and it took me around 2 hours.
If you are more a browser it may be even quicker. A zoology museum is just around the corner so if you are coming for the day then give that one a go too :)
I only had an hour and a half between appointments but that was fine: I did not see everything by any means but I can always go back! If you live abroad allow 3 hours for a leisuirely trot and restoring coffee, otherwise you can get 'Museum fatigue' (anywhere) and that's wretched.
