it looked like (from pictures posted here)that there were two castles...one ruined and one intact and furnished. Which one is Cardiff castle? is there much to see at all of the ruined one? nooks and crannies, lots of rooms?
There is the house which the guided tour informs you of the history and meaning of the architecture and people who lived there (quite interesting!!!!) you don’t need a guided tour though as there is a walk around you can do yourself but that is limiting what you can view. The keep which isn’t guided is in the grounds, very steep stairs but great views.
Hi Kristi, there is a gothic revival house and a Norman period ‘keep’ which unfortunately I didn’t see due to the lateness of my visit. I did the guided tour of the house however which was interesting and informative.
The keep is on the hill, hasn’t got any rooms to see but still is amazing to see how buildings were like many years ago. Also it has got very nice views when you get to the top of it. The castle is in good condition and has got a few rooms to see with one of them having a very nice ceiling.
The one that is ruined (I assume you mean the one on the hill) is the keep not the castle. The castle is on the ground level and is in very nice condition. The keep is nice if you like to see the way life was for them then. The view is great as well but there are no exhibits to see up there.
